The Fullerton Heritage is a unique waterfront development poised to be a chic and
vibrant lifestyle destination. The proposal featured a six-storey luxury hotel, an urban
landscaped plaza for public enjoyment of the waterfront and unique ‘oating’ pods
suitable for hotel-related activities. A maritime gallery, which showcases Singapore’s
history as a trading hub, harnesses the site’s unique heritage.
The design concept of the hotel focused on the intersection between new and old, while
integrating form and lighting. It has a simple and sleek architectural form, composed of
light materials and a full glass facade that express the building as a reective, transient
jewel oating on the water. The building is articulated as a pier-like structure set away
from the existing buildings, enhancing and embracing the extensive water body. The
subtle hues that gently illuminate the building accentuate its position as an exclusive
luxury boutique hotel.
In contrast, the existing Clifford Pier and Customs House buildings have a more solid
and ornate appearance, conserving and preserving the architectural elements and
structures of the buildings. The warmer, welcoming hues of the lighting is appropriate to
their public-oriented functions, with the entrances designed to be open and inviting.

River Safari is Asia’s rst river-themed wildlife attraction situated between Singapore
Zoo and Night Safari. The wildlife park features ora and fauna from eight famous
rivers – Amazon, Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Murray, Mekong and Yangtze – in
a naturalistic landscape. The park brings together the best in zoological architecture
and design, with state-of-the-art exhibit artistry and technology to give visitors an
immersive experience.
Located on an 11-hectare plot of land, the park is divided into four main zones.
Visitors journey through the rivers of the world, including the Yangtze River zone
where the Giant Panda Forest is located; cross the Seletar Reservoir via a bridge
with a scenic view of the whole attraction; to the opposite bank for the Amazon
River Quest boat ride which ends at the Amazon Flooded Forest. The development
also includes a new multi-storey car park that is designed to harmonise with the
surroundings, allow maximum daylight, and to employ bio-retention water features.
Rated Green Mark Platinum, the rst for a park, River Safari is designed and
developed with great concern for the environment, particularly in the Mandai Nature
Reserve and Upper Seletar Reservoir area where the park is situated. Exhibit
levels are designed to suit the existing terrain prole. Elevated boardwalks serve
as connectors between exhibits to minimise the impact to existing grounds while
allowing plants under the shade to grow and animals to traverse.

Singapore Sports Hub is the rst integrated sports, leisure and lifestyle destination in
Asia. The world’s largest Public-Private-Partnership to date, it is located on a 35ha
waterfront site close to the heart of Singapore. It consists of a 55,000-seat National
Stadium and sporting facilities that cater to over 150 sports disciplines, including
soccer, cricket, athletics, basketball, swimming and rugby.
The design for the National Stadium, which features a retractable roof, dwells much
on sustainability, allowing plenty of ventilation, vegetation and natural daylight
into humanised spaces. The stadium is lined up with top-notch sporting facilities
and community programmes on the fully sheltered main connector – the Sports
Promenade. The facilities include the sleek, modern and well-ventilated aquatic
centre, a multi-purpose indoor arena and an exciting around-the-clock retail space.

Set amid the tropical island setting of Sentosa, the design proposal for Resorts
World Sentosa is informed by the local context of the site as well as the surrounding
developments. A large-scale iconic development and a world-class tropical resort that
offers the whole family a memorable leisure experience, Resorts World Sentosa is a
densely knit, inter-related series of activities and entertainment venues with a variety of
different zones, each a mini-destination on its own.
Nestled against the northern edge of the 390ha Sentosa Island, the proposal
provides many large open spaces, waterways and pedestrian routes that organise
the site, creating interesting experiences for visitors, from dramatic framed views
of the mainland and the Merlion high on the ridge, to more intimate and immediate
relationships with the heritage landscape and the waterfront.
The resort’s tropical character results from the consistent use of three design elements:
water, landscape and the forms, materials, and details associated with tropical
architecture. These elements expressed in the small-scale articulation of the facades,
use of warm, natural palette, consistent awning treatment, shade-producing lattice and
trellises and generous pitched roofs thus create an ambience betting a tropical resort
within Singapore’s landscape.
Resorts World Sentosa is designed in collaboration with Michael Graves and
Associates, Princeton, New Jersey.

The continuing transformation of Orchard Road is in many ways driven by the
competitive nature of its retail spaces. The prospective design for Wisma Atria is
designed to further augment street visibility and respond to patterns of human movement
through the site.
A prospective high-visibility glass wrapping performs as a common dynamic envelope,
a three-storey glazed shopfront articulated to extend even further into the space of
the pedestrian promenade. In an effort to impart maximum transparency and fulll the
client’s desire for an all-glass building, the design removed the façade’s current grid,
retaining only those parts structurally supporting an extended food court above. The
new structure underlying the triangulated glazed skin was designed using thinnest-
possible members, while structural retainers were designed to enhance a sheen glazed
nish. The façade materiality becomes a dialogue between glass and an aluminium
matte cladding afxed to structural and mechanical elements. An articulated backdrop
façade on the upper levels is clad in blue horizontal strips of hollow channel, once again
maintaining aspects of the mall’s earliest character.

summarised information for almost
all the projects that DP Architects
was involved.
These datasheets are normally
used for project pitching, project
submission and for architecture
team’s references.

Office general powerpoint
Just like the DP brochures, powerpoint slides for
subsidiaries and country typologies are available for office’s
usage. The slides are revised every quarterly to ensure they
are updated.

Office customised powerpoint
Sometimes, powerpoints are required for talks in the office
and use of typology is more sought after. Playful and
impactful use of words and colours draws attention from
the crowd as repetitive usage of project images by other
speakers may have dull them.

Posters/emailers for Design Talks in office
Design Talks are common in the office and posters/emailers are
often the common way to announce to the office in regards to the
venue and topic.
Photography for events
The archival of photos are important as i have seen those
taken by the seniors decades ago often brings back
memories and laughters. It is also important to document
these events as it might be required for usage for
announcement in websites and newsletters.

Coordinating
aerial architecture
photography
Coordinating aerial architecture
photography can be challenging
as i have to consider the possible
angles of the project to deliver the
best angles.
Usually, a meeting will be arranged
for both the photographer and
the architect to meet in order to
discuss on the angles to take.
In this case, the architect is not
available and i have to take on the
role to decide on the angles after
discussion with my team.

Coordinating group photography
Coordinating group photography is by far the most
challenging task as it requires all the people to be
present on the same day, time and with the correct
dress code.
In this case, a group photography session for
the top management took place. Our team were
tasked to execute it and a sample was given to us
as a guideline by one of our director.
As renting a space outside the office can be
expensive and cause inconvience to some of the
top management, it was decided that the session
should take place in the office.
Recees were done in order to find the most
suitable space and several test shots took place in
order for things to go as smoothly as possible on
the actual day.

Cleaning up of drawings
Architecture drawings often looks messy and contains too
much information to be published. Thus, cleaning up the
drawing is important not only to remove sensitive details,
but also to make it looks neater and presentable.
This is usually done when a book or newsletter publication
requires showcasing of drawing/s.

Trash-formation
Final year project to create awareness
of over production and disposal of
product packaging.
Facial expressions of humans were
created by images taken from various
angles of empty drink cans and
plastic bags to harmonize a close
relationship between humans and
packaging trash as we are both the
creator and disposer.
Design Portfolio of YC
The 2 illustrations are to portray
that majority of the community are
uninterested about working towards
a sustainable lifestyle. The 2 main
characters have relatively big eyes,
portraying that they are “aware” of
the huge amount of rubbish in their
environment and are the only ones
playing their part by reducing them.
The other characters however, are
all napping, indicating that they don’t
really show much concern towards
the situation. That is also why the 2
characters look so frustrated.
Both illustrations were being
drawn at the back of unwanted
packaging to strengthen the belief of
sustainable lifestyle.
Design Portfolio of YC
The 3d outcome on the right was
created from unwanted packaging
such as titbit and tissue boxes.
The whole process of recycling was
exaggerated to inject humor to the
audience by showing that recycling
does not take as much effort as
fighting a monster.
Trash-formation poster created by various creatures formed by unwanted packaging.

GoodEyeDeer Drawing
Competition 2013
Humble to receive first prize (Student
Category) in the GoodEyeDeer
Drawing Competition 2013.
Design concept as follow:
“HDB flats in Singapore are
beginning to lose their originality and
becoming to look more and more like
condominiums. I’m beginning to miss
the simple and polygonal appearance
of the residential building that one
can find during the 70s and 80s,
when such establishments are being
introduced in the country.
To me, the drying of laundry by the
use of bamboo poles sticking out
of the kitchen window is something
very “Singapore” and you cannot
find it easily else where in the world.
Everytime a resident puts out a
bamboo pole full of laundry to dry, its
like “poking” the building to me, as
such execution requires the insertion
of the poles into “holes” provided
just below the kitchen window.
This ultimately inspires me into the
illustration that was drawn as shown.”

  • 14. The Fullerton Heritage is a unique waterfront development poised to be a chic and vibrant lifestyle destination. The proposal featured a six-storey luxury hotel, an urban landscaped plaza for public enjoyment of the waterfront and unique ‘oating’ pods suitable for hotel-related activities. A maritime gallery, which showcases Singapore’s history as a trading hub, harnesses the site’s unique heritage. The design concept of the hotel focused on the intersection between new and old, while integrating form and lighting. It has a simple and sleek architectural form, composed of light materials and a full glass facade that express the building as a reective, transient jewel oating on the water. The building is articulated as a pier-like structure set away from the existing buildings, enhancing and embracing the extensive water body. The subtle hues that gently illuminate the building accentuate its position as an exclusive luxury boutique hotel. In contrast, the existing Clifford Pier and Customs House buildings have a more solid and ornate appearance, conserving and preserving the architectural elements and structures of the buildings. The warmer, welcoming hues of the lighting is appropriate to their public-oriented functions, with the entrances designed to be open and inviting. The park brings together the best in zoological architecture and design, with state-of-the-art exhibit artistry and technology to give visitors an immersive experience. Located on an 11-hectare plot of land, the park is divided into four main zones. Visitors journey through the rivers of the world, including the Yangtze River zone where the Giant Panda Forest is located; cross the Seletar Reservoir via a bridge with a scenic view of the whole attraction; to the opposite bank for the Amazon River Quest boat ride which ends at the Amazon Flooded Forest. The development also includes a new multi-storey car park that is designed to harmonise with the surroundings, allow maximum daylight, and to employ bio-retention water features. A large-scale iconic development and a world-class tropical resort that offers the whole family a memorable leisure experience, Resorts World Sentosa is a densely knit, inter-related series of activities and entertainment venues with a variety of different zones, each a mini-destination on its own. Nestled against the northern edge of the 390ha Sentosa Island, the proposal provides many large open spaces, waterways and pedestrian routes that organise the site, creating interesting experiences for visitors, from dramatic framed views of the mainland and the Merlion high on the ridge, to more intimate and immediate relationships with the heritage landscape and the waterfront. The resort’s tropical character results from the consistent use of three design elements: water, landscape and the forms, materials, and details associated with tropical architecture. These elements expressed in the small-scale articulation of the facades, use of warm, natural palette, consistent awning treatment, shade-producing lattice and trellises and generous pitched roofs thus create an ambience betting a tropical resort within Singapore’s landscape. The prospective design for Wisma Atria is designed to further augment street visibility and respond to patterns of human movement through the site. A prospective high-visibility glass wrapping performs as a common dynamic envelope, a three-storey glazed shopfront articulated to extend even further into the space of the pedestrian promenade. In an effort to impart maximum transparency and fulll the client’s desire for an all-glass building, the design removed the façade’s current grid, retaining only those parts structurally supporting an extended food court above. The new structure underlying the triangulated glazed skin was designed using thinnest- possible members, while structural retainers were designed to enhance a sheen glazed nish. The façade materiality becomes a dialogue between glass and an aluminium matte cladding afxed to structural and mechanical elements. An articulated backdrop façade on the upper levels is clad in blue horizontal strips of hollow channel, once again maintaining aspects of the mall’s earliest character. • 20. Coordinating group photography Coordinating group photography is by far the most challenging task as it requires all the people to be present on the same day, time and with the correct dress code. In this case, a group photography session for the top management took place. Our team were tasked to execute it and a sample was given to us as a guideline by one of our director. As renting a space outside the office can be expensive and cause inconvience to some of the top management, it was decided that the session should take place in the office. Recees were done in order to find the most suitable space and several test shots took place in order for things to go as smoothly as possible on the actual day. 1 4 7 2 to 3. • 28. The 2 illustrations are to portray that majority of the community are uninterested about working towards a sustainable lifestyle. The 2 main characters have relatively big eyes, portraying that they are “aware” of the huge amount of rubbish in their environment and are the only ones playing their part by reducing them. The other characters however, are all napping, indicating that they don’t really show much concern towards the situation. That is also why the 2 characters look so frustrated. Both illustrations were being drawn at the back of unwanted packaging to strengthen the belief of sustainable lifestyle.

  • 31. Design Portfolio of YC GoodEyeDeer Drawing Competition 2013 Humble to receive first prize (Student Category) in the GoodEyeDeer Drawing Competition 2013. Design concept as follow: “HDB flats in Singapore are beginning to lose their originality and becoming to look more and more like condominiums. I’m beginning to miss the simple and polygonal appearance of the residential building that one can find during the 70s and 80s, when such establishments are being introduced in the country. To me, the drying of laundry by the use of bamboo poles sticking out of the kitchen window is something very “Singapore” and you cannot find it easily else where in the world. Everytime a resident puts out a bamboo pole full of laundry to dry, its like “poking” the building to me, as such execution requires the insertion of the poles into “holes” provided just below the kitchen window. This ultimately inspires me into the illustration that was drawn as shown.” 1 1. Proud to receive the award from Ms Janice Koh.
