8. Potrait photography for
newsletters (cont’)
Sometimes the article can
be too lengthy and end up
taking up a bigger space than
expected. In this case, the
design has to be considered
in a much confined space.

subsidiaries and country typologies are available for office’s
usage. The slides are revised every quarterly to ensure they

16. Office customised powerpoint
Sometimes, powerpoints are required for talks in the office
and use of typology is more sought after. Playful and
impactful use of words and colours draws attention from
the crowd as repetitive usage of project images by other
speakers may have dull them.

Posters/emailers for Design Talks in office
Design Talks are common in the office and posters/emailers are
often the common way to announce to the office in regards to the
venue and topic.
18. Photography for events
The archival of photos are important as i have seen those
taken by the seniors decades ago often brings back
memories and laughters. It is also important to document
these events as it might be required for usage for
announcement in websites and newsletters.

Coordinating
aerial architecture
photography
Coordinating aerial architecture
photography can be challenging
as i have to consider the possible
angles of the project to deliver the
best angles.
Usually, a meeting will be arranged
for both the photographer and
the architect to meet in order to
discuss on the angles to take.
In this case, the architect is not
available and i have to take on the
role to decide on the angles after
discussion with my team.

20. Coordinating group photography
Coordinating group photography is by far the most
challenging task as it requires all the people to be
present on the same day, time and with the correct
dress code.
In this case, a group photography session for
the top management took place. Our team were
tasked to execute it and a sample was given to us
as a guideline by one of our director.
As renting a space outside the office can be
expensive and cause inconvience to some of the
top management, it was decided that the session
should take place in the office.
Recees were done in order to find the most
suitable space and several test shots took place in
order for things to go as smoothly as possible on
the actual day.

22. Cleaning up of drawings
Architecture drawings often looks messy and contains too
much information to be published. Thus, cleaning up the
drawing is important not only to remove sensitive details,
but also to make it looks neater and presentable.
This is usually done when a book or newsletter publication
requires showcasing of drawing/s.

China Libraries Conference
Exhibition 2012
In 2012, DP Architects assisted NLB in the display
panels for one of the exhibition that took place in
Dongguan, China. Some photos needs to be retaken
while the information were provided by DP Green, one
of the subsidiary of DP Architects as the theme is about
sustainable libraries.
Asia Pacific Tree Climbing
Competition 2011
An outdoor exhibition located at Esplanade Park in which a
booth was set up showcasing the company’s projects.
24. Birthday card
Simple, vectorised buildings of DP Architects that were
completed between 2015 and 2016 were illustrated as a
cover for the company’s birthday card.
26. Trash-formation
Final year project to create awareness
of over production and disposal of
product packaging.
Facial expressions of humans were
created by images taken from various
angles of empty drink cans and
plastic bags to harmonize a close
relationship between humans and
packaging trash as we are both the
creator and disposer.
28. The 2 illustrations are to portray
that majority of the community are
uninterested about working towards
a sustainable lifestyle. The 2 main
characters have relatively big eyes,
portraying that they are “aware” of
the huge amount of rubbish in their
environment and are the only ones
playing their part by reducing them.
The other characters however, are
all napping, indicating that they don’t
really show much concern towards
the situation. That is also why the 2
characters look so frustrated.
Both illustrations were being
drawn at the back of unwanted
packaging to strengthen the belief of
sustainable lifestyle.

The 3d outcome on the right was
created from unwanted packaging
such as titbit and tissue boxes.
The whole process of recycling was
exaggerated to inject humor to the
audience by showing that recycling
does not take as much effort as
fighting a monster.

GoodEyeDeer Drawing
Competition 2013
Humble to receive first prize (Student
Category) in the GoodEyeDeer
Drawing Competition 2013.
Design concept as follow:
“HDB flats in Singapore are
beginning to lose their originality and
becoming to look more and more like
condominiums. I’m beginning to miss
the simple and polygonal appearance
of the residential building that one
can find during the 70s and 80s,
when such establishments are being
introduced in the country.
To me, the drying of laundry by the
use of bamboo poles sticking out
of the kitchen window is something
very “Singapore” and you cannot
find it easily else where in the world.
Everytime a resident puts out a
bamboo pole full of laundry to dry, its
like “poking” the building to me, as
such execution requires the insertion
of the poles into “holes” provided
just below the kitchen window.
This ultimately inspires me into the
illustration that was drawn as shown.”
