1. Location Recce
Location One: Cranbourne Chase
The first location I have chosen for my production to filmat is Cranbourne chase in north-
eastern Dorset. I have chosen this location for its nearby accessibility to my home and its
perfect ideal landscape that is close to those envisioned in my script. It is also a relatively
quiet and unpopulated part of the country, limiting the chance of my production process
being interrupted by cars and other people. The dangers of this area include tree roots, rock
and rabbit holes offering tripping hazards in several different forms.
Location Two: Salisbury Plain
The second location I have the option of filming at is the wide grassy expanse of Salisbury
plain. This area will not have the large woodland cover that I would prefer to be included in
my filmbut has an abundance of hay-meadows and grass-land. The dangers of this area
mostly include rocks hidden by grass and an abundance of venomous snakes that pose a
possible biting risk.
2. Location Three: Wimborne St Giles
My third chosen location, and closest, is the small rural village of Wimborne St Giles and its
surrounding countryside and farmland that provides a selection of ideal shooting locations
shaded by the forest surrounding the St Giles estate. However, a large amount of land is
privately owned requiring me to get permission before shooting in land that far enough
away from any roads so that my sound quality isn’t disturbed.
