4. This collection brings together photographs from Ross,
Lindisfarne in Northumberland. They show the beach at different
times of the year.
The ever changing conditions on Ross sands; its varied tides and
exposure to the weather, create a varied landscape that is often
exciting to photograph.
There is a broad spectrum of colours to be found, especially in
the summer. But I’ve chosen to show my work in black and white
to draw attention to the important visual qualities of Ross sands;
its beautiful forms in natural light.
The 2013 photographs (1–3) are all long exposures shot using a
tripod. Because of strong winds, I shot those taken in early 2014
(4 –7) without a tripod.
