Vidyasagar University
 Quality of research in spatial science is primarily dependent on authentic data
collection and database creation. Secondary data collection from different offices
and institutes within a short period of time is a tedious task for spatial science
researchers.
Especially for those students and scholars from rural universities who don’t have
enough information on the location of those data sources like offices and institutes
situated in far metropolis or in other states of the country
Students of different earth science departments of Vidyasagar University also face
similar kind of difficulties to reach individual offices, institutes, research labs and GIS
firms for their required data collection. Lack of information on location and route
direction causes waste of time and energy of these researchers.
Background
• To solve this problem a web based application has been developed,
where depending on the data requirement of the researchers,
• In this Project developed a GIS Web Application tool
• This Application is ready to serve the important GIS data sources, RS
organization, GIS institute, and GIS job location in India. In this
application user can easily find out the particular location using by the
search option.
Introduction
1.All of the students of RS & GIS can easily know about their necessary data
sources.
2. Identify the particular location and get also route direction.
3. Also decided what kind of data where found.
4. Find out the particular location All of the research Centre and Institutions of
India.
5. We can find out the location of GIS companies in West Bengal.
Aim
Project ObjectivesProject Objectives
Create a web-based GIS application where easily search Institution, Data
source, Research centre and GIS company on the map by region.
1. Both (primary & secondary) data are collected and arrange them
properly.
2. Design a GIS database server for stored all the data
3. Create a web based page for displaying the query of the students
WEB-BASEDWEB-BASED GISGIS ADVANTAGESADVANTAGES
FOR STUDENTS
• Avoid the complicated Search options.
• Students can utilize a Web browser to access maps and GIS from anywhere.
• Combine with Multi options.
• Know particular Location in map.
The available information followed by the
Application
A. Data Source:
• Soil Data
•Geological Data
•Meteorological Data
•Block level Data
•Census Data
•Landform Data
B. Institute:
•P.G diploma
•M.Sc.

Result
•All the modules of the system have been tested
successfully. Data pertaining to has been collected from
reliable sources.
•Map has been displayed on the browser using Map Server.
Functionality has been developed to collect all above the
data from the GIS database.
This kind of project is most valuable for this context. We
can easily solved any search for spatial data based
criteria analysis. The most valuable spatial data i.e., GIS
Data, Research Data, Institute location, the course
from this institution are easily locate from the search
model. We can also relate out about the relationship
between spatial data as well as non-spatial data. From
this kind of project we are also create geo database
model for searching the criteria. We can evaluate the
necessary data with their proper location. The location
are created with the place mark in Google Map.
