2. Hur bildas ljud
Ljud bildas när partiklar förtätas och förtunnas. De sätts då i rörelse
och bildar vibrationer i luften. Ljudvågor bildas alltså när föremål rör sig.
Ett exempel är när du släpper en gummiboll ned i marken.
När bollen träffar marken trycks bollens partiklar ihop (förtätas) och efter som
att gummi är elastiskt kommer bollen att försöka återfå sin vanliga form och
partiklarna kommer att breda ut sig (förtunnas) igen och
bollen stutar tillbaka. Då hör du en duns när bollen slår i golvet.
3. Hur breder ljud ut sig
När dessa ljudvågor når ett material tar materialet
upp vibrationerna och sprider dem vidare.
Beroende på vilket material det är och dess densitet kan tonen förstärkas.
Ljudvågornas hastighet i luft är cirka 332 meter i sekunden. Men det beror på
temperaturen. Ett bra exempel är en gitarr. Det år gitarrens låda som tar upp
ljudet när du slår på strängen och det stutsar då inuti låda och förstärks
på så sätt. Denna kallas även för resonanslåda.
4. Hur man registrerar ljud
Ljud kan registreras på många olika sätt – till exempel med en mikrofon eller med
själva örat. Ljudvågor kan gå olika snabbt och ha olika frekvens. Ett grafiskt exempel
på hur ljudvågor ser ut kan du se nedan. Förr i tiden använde man LP skivor för att
lyssna på musik. När man gör en LP skiva omvandlas ljudvågorna från en mikrofon till
en nål. Denna nål går i takt med ljudvågorna och ristar in ett mönster i skovan.
Sedan när skivan ska spelas upp så använder du en grammofon som då följer nålens
skåra. Man mäter ljud i decibel (dB).
5. Vad ljud har för egenskaper
Ljud har egenskapen att fördas igenom och i material alla sorters material. En mörk
ton kallas för bas. Den kan få material att skaka. Det är då ljudvågorna som åker
igenom materialet. Men det finns även ljud vars frekvenser är för höga eller för låga
för att vi skall kunna höra dem. Infra ljud är frekvenser under 20Hz och ultraljud är
frekvenser över 20 000Hz.
I rymden där det inte finns någon luft kan inte ljudet färdas, detta gör att man inte
hör något ljud där.
6. Hur påverkas hörseln av ljud
Om du lyssnar på för hög musik eller hör en kraftig smäll nära örat kan du skada
hörseln och även bli döv. Alla ljud över 120db kan skada dina öron. Då är
ljudvågorna så starka att de kan det gå hål i trumhinnan. En annan bieffekt av för
höga ljud är att man kan få ont i huvudet och ont i öronen. Ljud som är höga och
irriterande kallas för buller. I buller går ljudvågorna inte i takt utan huller om buller.

Genom att lyssna på lägre musik och använda hörselkåpor eller använda öron
proppar när ljudet är för högt skyddar du trumhinnan från starka ljudvågor.
7. Hur breder ljus ut sig
Ljus skapas från en ljuskälla. Exempel på ljuskällor är: lampor och solen. Ljuset från
Ljuskällan färdas ända tills de når ett föremål. Grafiskt så brukar man visa ljus genom
ljusstrålar.
Hur ljus reflekteras och bryts
Ljuset reflekteras när ljusstrålarna når ett föremål som de inte kan tränga sig
igenom. Blanka föremål så som metall eller en spegel reflekterar ljus mycket bra.
När ljuset når ett föremål så bryts det. I vatten går ljuset långsammare. Detta
beror på at det är flera molekyler så det kan inte färdas lika snabbt.
8. Hur ögat uppfattar färg
När ljuset når ett föremål som inte är genomskinligt stutsar ljusstrålarna i en parallell riktning.
Då absorberar föremålet den färg som den är i och alla andra reflekteras.
När ljuset når lunsen i ögat bryts det. Eftersom att linsen är konvex riktas ljusstrålarna inåt,
sedan så möts strålarna vid gula fläcken. Där finns det tappar och stavar som tar upp färgerna.
Sedan skickas signalerna upp till hjärnan och en bild skapas. Färgen bildas alltså i hjärnan.
Vi ser egentligen bara blå, röd och grön. Men i hjärnan ses gul som en kombination utav
röd och grön. Om du riktar ljusstrålarna igenom ett prisma så kommer
färgerna att komma ut på andra sidan. Ett prisma är som en glas triangel.
9. Naturvetenskaplig upptäckt
Röntgen
Wilhelm Röntgen hette mannen som upptäckte röntgenstrålningen. Detta innebar
en stor förändring inom sjukvården då man nu kunde se människokroppen på ett
nytt sätt och ställa bättre diagnoser. För att få fram en röntgenbild använder man sig
(logiskt nog) utav en röntgenkamera. Skillnaden mellan en vanlig kamera och en
röntgenkamera är att röntgenkameran använder röntgenstrålar för att framställa en
bild. Röntgenstrålar består utav elektromagnetiska vågor som har en mycket hög
energinivå. Detta gör att partiklarna tränger sig igenom kroppen och absorberas
olika mycket utav skelett, fett, muskler och annan vävnad. Detta skapar alltså en bild
som framträder kroppens inre där benen syns bäst eftersom att de har absorberat
mest utav dessa partiklar.
Innan röntgenstrålningen fanns var läkarna tvungna att lyssna på kroppen och
partiklarna och utefter det ställa en diagnos. Detta var ett mycket dåligt sätt
eftersom att det inte gav en säker diagnos.
