Little Ant goes outside to play but gets caught under a leaf during a windstorm. She calls to various animals for help, but they are all too busy. Finally, her cousin the flea bites the dog, scaring it and causing it to scare the cat chasing the mouse, who lifts the leaf off Little Ant. She thanks the flea and returns home safely to her mother.

A woodcutter hears their cries and kills the wolf, rescuing Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother. From then on, Little Red Riding Hood is more cautious traveling in the forest.
The gruffalo
A mouse tricks a fox, owl, and snake into believing it is going to have lunch/tea/a feast with a gruffalo, a made-up creature. When each animal asks what a gruffalo is, the mouse describes its scary features. When they see the gruffalo with the mouse, each animal gets scared and runs away. In the end, the mouse convinces the gruffalo that it is feared by all, but then says its favorite food is gruffalo crumble, scaring off the gruffalo. The mouse is left alone to enjoy a nut in the woods.

Wheels On The Bus
This PowerPoint presentation describes the sounds made by different parts of the bus and passengers as it travels around town. It discusses the wheels going round and round, the driver telling passengers to move to the back, the wipers swishing, the lights blinking, the horn beeping, the babies crying, and the parents hushing. The presentation closes by repeating that the wheels on the bus go round and round all over town.
The lion and The mouse-fabble
The document summarizes the fable "The Lion and the Mouse". It tells the story of a mouse that wakes a sleeping lion and is threatened to be eaten. The mouse pleads for its life and the lion spares it. Later, when the lion is trapped by hunters, the mouse hears its cries and comes to help by gnawing through the ropes to free the lion. The lion thanks the mouse for saving it and they become friends.
Ible or able
- The document discusses the suffixes -able and -ible and provides tips to help determine which suffix to use when spelling words.

When the wolf came, he huffed and puffed and blew down the houses of straw and sticks, eating their inhabitants. However, his huffing and puffing could not blow down the house of bricks. In his anger, the wolf tried to enter down the chimney but fell into a pot of boiling water instead, meeting his end. The third little pig and his house of bricks proved too clever for the wolf.
Rhyming Words

A and B plan to meet at the top of a coconut tree, with B saying they will beat A there. Many more letters of the alphabet also make their way up the tree. As the whole alphabet climbs the coconut tree, it seems there may not be enough room, culminating in a "boom boom" at the end.
The boy who cried wolf
The boy was not happy in taking the sheep to the grazing grounds. So wanted to fool the people and make fun of them. The boy cried out oh wolf, wolf, wolf. Actually there was no wolf. The villagers rushed to rescue the boy and the sheep from the wolf. But they found they were being fooled. An when one day, the wolf actually came and killed his sheep there was no one to rescue him and his sheep. Never fool others.

The Winter Visit
The animals in the house hear strange noises outside. The goose sees boots and a shadowy figure carrying a sack. It's an elf who puts toys and treats around the house for the animals. He places a star on top of the Christmas tree, making it light up and sparkle. The animals enjoy their gifts and the bright tree.
Thumbelina
A woman wished for a daughter the size of her thumb, and the fairies granted her wish by leaving a tiny baby girl in a flower on her windowsill. She named the girl Thumbelina. Thumbelina had many adventures, including being kidnapped by a toad to be her son's wife but escaping with help from a butterfly. She found shelter with a field mouse for the winter but was then pursued by Mr. Mole to be his wife. On her wedding day, Thumbelina called for the swallow who had helped her before, and he flew her away to a warm land where she lived happily among tiny winged people as their queen.

This playscript is about a mouse wedding. It begins with gossiping girl mice saying Mr. and Mrs. Mouse's daughter is beautiful but they don't like any suitors. They decide the daughter should marry the most powerful being. They ask the Sun, Cloud, and Wind but each say they aren't the most powerful. The Wall also isn't the most powerful. Finally, a young mouse appears and the Wall says mice are the most powerful as they can make holes in walls.

Town Mouse and Country Mouse
Town Mouse visits his friend Country Mouse in the country. Town Mouse finds country life strange and uncomfortable, with long wet grass, strange food, and a dark quiet bed. Country Mouse then visits Town Mouse in the town and also finds it an unfamiliar and noisy place. Both mice realize they prefer their own homes and habitats, though they remain friends.

Penelope gets married to her brother Booth and moves out of the main house with him. She quickly becomes pregnant with twins. Back at the main house, life continues as normal, with ghosts scaring the heirs and other typical hijinks.
Book report mister beetle
Mr. Beetle moves into a small plant with five branches. However, more branches and rooms grow from the plant to house other insects like Cricket and Bumblebee. Though Mr. Beetle is initially upset about the lack of space, he comes to accept his neighbors. On the anniversary of moving in, the insects throw Mr. Beetle a surprise party, expressing their gratitude for the home he helped provide for all of them.

Once upon a time, a kitten, puppy, and small wolf lived near a forest behind mountains and woods. One day while exploring the forest, the kitten and puppy heard the wolf howling and got scared. A girl named Kate then discovered a tiny wolf stuck in a deep hole. She realized the howling was the wolf's mother calling for help. Kate and her parents went to help by lowering a rope into the hole. Kate's daddy was able to pull out the little wolf and save it. Kate asked to keep the wolf, and her daddy agreed. Over time the wolf grew up and eventually said goodbye to return to the forest, promising to visit his friends often.

We Are Important Story
The document is a short story about different important jobs followed by comprehension questions. Tom's Parrot Story
Tom has a green parrot named Polly. Polly is sitting in a tree and does not come when Tom calls her. Tom gets a mango from his mother and uses it to call Polly. When Polly sees the mango, she flies down to Tom. Both Tom and Polly are happy.
Thin Tim Story
Tim is thin and visits his two friends Beth and Thelma. Beth was crying because she lost her house key and couldn't get inside. Tim comforted Beth while they waited for Thelma. Thelma arrived and had a spare key, allowing Beth to enter her home. The three friends then went inside for tea.
The Thunderstorm Story
The kids were outside playing catch when they heard thunder rumbling in the sky. They decided to go inside to play it safe rather than stay outside in the storm where it wasn't safe or risk getting wet. Inside, they played a board game and enjoyed listening to the thunder while playing. After the storm passed, the kids went back outside and saw a rainbow.

Gail the snail felt plain so she decided to paint her shell. She got paint and started painting her shell but then it started to rain. The rain washed the paint off so Gail's shell was plain again.
The New Bicycle Story
The short story is about a girl named Emma who received a bright pink and shiny new bicycle as a gift from her uncle. Her uncle hid the bicycle behind a bush to surprise Emma. When Emma looked behind the bush and saw the bicycle, she jumped for joy because it was just what she wanted. She gave her uncle a big hug. Emma loves her new bicycle and she loves her uncle.
The Dog and the Bone Story
A greedy dog saw a big bone in a butcher's shop window. It went into the shop and stole the bone, prompting the butcher to chase it. The dog escaped and ran far away. While crossing a bridge, the dog saw another dog in the river below with an even bigger bone. When the greedy dog tried to take that bone, it dropped its own bone into the river, leaving it sad without a bone.
Sheila's Shoes Story
Sheila lives near a river and often goes there with her father, who is a fisherman. One day while sitting in her father's boat, Sheila says she wishes she had some shoes. Later when her father is leaving to go fishing, Sheila shouts that she wants him to bring back a shell, but he shouts back "no shells, just fish!". That evening, Sheila's father returns home and gives Sheila a box, which contains a pair of shiny black shoes that make her happy.
Roy's Toys Story
Roy has many toys but does not let his friends play with them. When some boys come over to play, Roy only wants to play hide and seek while the boys ask to play with his toys like his drum, cars, and truck. Roy refuses and cries when he cannot find the boys during hide and seek. Later, Roy learns to share his toys with his friends and they come over every day to play, making Roy happy.
Rima and Diya Story
Rima and Diya are in the garden on a hot, sunny day. They hear a croaking sound and look under trees, pots, bushes, and a car to find the source of the noise. Rima eventually finds a frog under a leaf in the pond, but there is no water in the pond. She calls for her dad, who comes and looks in the pond with Rima and Diya. Dad helps fill the pond with water from a bucket so the frog is no longer stranded.
A Cold Bear Story
The passage describes how a bear named prepares for winter. First, the bear eats a lot to gain weight. Then, he finds a den and fills it with leaves to keep warm. By eating much and having a cozy den, the bear is ready for the cold winter season. The questions ask about the character, what the bear needs to do, and how the bear gets ready for winter.
The Three Fish Story
The passage introduces three fish: Finny, who has beautiful long fins to help her swim fast; Tayla, whose big tail moves from side to side to help her go different directions; and Igor, who has great big eyes to help him see where he's going and see big scary fish. The story is about a kitten who has to choose between playing with her new toy or chasing a mouse she sees. If she chases the mouse, her brother will take her toy. But if she plays with the toy, the mouse will get away. She decides to chase the mouse instead of playing with the toy, since she doesn't see mice often and finds chasing them more fun, even though she doesn't catch it. She is happy with her choice.

The story is about a visit to Jen's small shop by Jack. Jen has a variety of items for sale including pens, nibs, books, bags, clocks, clips and buttons. When Jack asks if she has certain items, Jen always replies that she does and describes what kinds she has. At the end, when Jack says he wants nothing and was just checking, Jen chases him away from the shop.

Brad loves playing video games, especially Disney games. One day after school, Brad's mom asked if he had homework, which he did, but he considered lying so he could play his games. However, he decided to tell the truth because he knew if he lied, he would not be allowed to play video games for a week. Brad finished his homework and had time to play two games before dinner.

- 1. LITTLE ANT
- 2. It was autumn. The weather was getting cold. Little Ant said, “I’m going outside to play”.
- 3. “Come home soon,” said Little Ant’s mother. It’s getting cold outside. Bout our home under the ground is nice and warm.
- 4. Little Ant met a beetle and a worm. “Hello,” said Little Ant. “Let’s play!”
- 5. “Ok,’’ said the beetle and the worm. They played and played together.
- 6. The wind began to blow. Little Ant began to shiver. “It’s cold,” she said. “I have to go home.”
- 7. Little Ant started to walk home. The wind blew harder and Little Ant shivered.
- 8. A big leaf fell on her. “Help!” said Little Ant. “I can’t move!”
- 9. “Leaf, please get off me,” said Little Ant. “I have to go home.” But the leaf didn’t move.
