4/1/05 – present Engineering Group Manager, General Motors Corporation - Warren, Michigan.
Global Engineering Design Strategy & Optimization: Develop and implement strategic projects to
optimize operations and increase efficiency of the GED organization, comprised of over 5000 Users.
Establish best functionality of Siemens and 3rd
party tools to deploy. Provide strategic direction for
GED processes and software. Embed engineering solutions into the CAD environment in reuasable
constructs. Goals: speed product assessment and development, enhance the quality and speed of
vehicle engineering solutions.
GMNA Body Design: Direct operations and design resources for advance program work in all Body
Enterprise areas. Lead math process development for Body, especially Math Tool and Template
development. Body SME for Productivity Improvement initiatives. Perform Workload review and
scenario analysis, lead team to create and deploy sharepoint GMNA Unified Workload Tool.
AVDC Global Center Design: Direct team of 15 Designers and coordinate all design resources for
advance program work in all Body Enterprise areas (Structures,Closures, Lighting, Exteriors). AVDC
representative in Global Math forums. Extensive Operations responsibilities and assignments.
Body Exterior Engineering: Direct team of Designing Engineers to provide design and engineering for
Cadillacs, Buick Lucerne and Midsize Trucks - bumper, fascia, grille, and wheel liner exterior
systems. Engineering Lead of Functional Black Plastics Engineering Creativity Team. Mentored
launch at three assembly plants.
3/15/00 – 4/01/05 Design Supervisor, General Motors Corporation - Warren & Pontiac, Michigan.
Exteriors (bumper systems, fascia, grille, wheel liners): Direct team of 33 Designers to provide design
support for exterior systems Truck programs. Developed and deployed one Designing Engineer.
Side Closures: Direct team of 25 Designers to provide design support for Small Car programs.
Piloted Virtual Build and RDV processes. Developed and deployed 4 DEs.
Vehicle Architecture Integration: Direct team of 30 Designers to provide architectural design support
for CITs, Design Center, and AVDC. Develop and implement Integration Designing Engineer
positions, corporate common process improvements and new technology into Design community such
as CCP, VAS, and DAP. Extensive work as design liason with Isuzu (Small Truck program).
7/1/88 – 3/15/00 Senior Engineer, General Motors Corporation - NAO Car Group, Warren, Michigan.
Compartment Integration Engineer: leader of teams responsible for architectural packaging of all
vehicle compartments on global small car programs. Position required cognizance and integration of
safety, vehicle performance, manufacturing, assembly, and human factors requirements.
Vehicle Engineer: Responsible for total vehicle engineering integration of new small car global
program (Delta 1). Duties included: export engineering program management (including testing and
performance compliance), mediate conflicts between program imperatives. Special competitive
assessment projects which culminated in presentations to GM Chairman “Jack” Smith and NASB.
Vehicle Integration Engineer: Responsible for overall program and vehicle engineering integration of
RHD Toyota Cavalier. Tasks included: status presentations to GM and Toyota management,
resolution of quality issues, vehicle performance and testing verification and integration of
engineering and manufacturing functions into mainstream domestic system.
Lead Engineer/Design Release Engineer: Complete engineering program management of: rear
closure systems, rear lighting, fuel filler doors, exterior ornamentation and body structures. Performed
as IRT in startup of four assembly plants for new small car program.
