OBJECTIVE:
Obtain a seasonal firefighter one position with CAL Fire to serve and protect the citizens of California by working with a
team of professional and experienced individuals.
WORK EXPERIENCE (PAID)
 2014-2015:The University of California at Davis Fire Department. DavisCa,
Student Resident Firefighter: As a Student Resident Firefighter, we worked alongside the career staff of the UC
Davis Fire Department and trained in firefighting strategies and tactics. Our duties included emergency response to all
incidences on the UC Davis campus and mutual aid to the City of Davis.
 2014 to Present: California Fire and Rescue Training Authority. Sacramento Ca,
Adjunct Instructor: I am a member of the California Fire and Rescue Training Authorities EMT instructor cadre. I
am a skills instructor for the class and help develop and assist the students in learning and grasping the fundamentals
of becoming an Emergency Medical Technician.
 2011-2012:U.S Forest Service. Mendocino NF. Region 5 (Ca)
Forestry Technician (Seasonal):I was a member of the United State Forest service Covelo Ranger District. Our duties
included working together in providing emergency response for the district, including medical and fire emergencies. We
had a multitude of daily duties including rig inspections and daily fitness which varied from a run to a hike or weights
depending on the day and the duty officer’s mood. After the daily duties were completed; our normal routine consisted of
either hiking fire trails or project work around the district.
 2011-Present: Kelseyville Fire Protection District. Kelseyville, Ca
Emergency Medical Technician/Volunteer Firefighter: I am a member of the Kelseyville Fire Protection Districts
Inter-facility Transfer Division. When not on emergency medical or fire calls; the members of the IFT division would
provide patient transfers for hospitals in the County. I am also a volunteer firefighter for the department. As a volunteer, I
assist the career staff on the scene of emergencies in the district.
 2013-Present: Northshore Fire Protection District. Lucerne, Ca
Firefighter/EMT: Member of the North Shore Fire Protection Districts limited term employees. Our duties included all
emergency response to medical, fire and vehicle accidents within the district. Our duties outside emergency response also
included staff training along with team building exercises and station maintenance.
 2008-2012: Rasmussen Landscaping. Lake County, Ca
Owner/Operator: I worked as the Owner and Operator of Rasmussen Landscaping. We focused primarily on fire
abatement, landscape design and yard maintenance. My duties included customer service, design, crew management
as well as company promotion and personal relations. Special tasks included small equipment operation, welding,
general construction and Irrigation.

ability to work on a team will ensure my success at this career.
I believe the following accomplishments make me a highly qualified candidate for this job:
 Experience- I have worked with a number of different agencies and have been able to learn
from my peers guidance and tutelage
 Leadership- I have had the opportunity to be a squad leader for the Lake County Search
and Rescue. Here,I learned the importance of communication and was able to develop my
skills in dealing with a multitude of personalities. Also, as a Firefighter/EMT for the U.S
Forest Service and Northshore Fire Protection District, I was given leadership on incidents
which demanded poise and an ability to think clearly and decisively in emergency
situations.
 Communication Skills- I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of different
individuals from all walks of life. From con crew members to battalion chiefs. With every
individual comes a unique personality. Throughout my years in the EMS field, I have
learned how to communicate effectively and work efficiently with members of different
agencies to complete a common goal.
 Team Player- I enjoy being a part of a team and have enjoyed my years with the agencies
I have worked with. I enjoy the comradery that comes with the fire service.
I am a team player and innovative problem solver. I know I will enjoy working with other like -
minded individuals and using my interpersonal skills to help me succeed with CAL Fire.
