Early life
Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest sixteenth president and lawyer of the United State of America. he came from poor family. He becomes the greatest through his honesty and hard working. Probably everyone believes him to be a global icon of peace. He was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin country, Kentucky.

his father was a farming and he helped his father in farming in childhood. Abraham built a boat and start working as a boatman which gave him good profit.
Later he start working as a manager in store.
He continue his self-education by borrowing books and self learning by grammar, law, math’s etc. Abraham completed his law studies while working in the store.
After doing different jobs he settled as successful lawyer. He also worked as postman in Village which gained him more respect.
Later he gradually drawn in politics. He lost elections eight times, failed twice in is business and suffered with a nervous breakdown but he didn’t gave up.
He endure many great failures in his life and finally he elected as a president of United State of America in 1860. When a civil war broke out between northern and southern states.
he ended up the civil war bravely and made people free from slavery. He declared “A nation cannot exist half free and slave” and united the kingdom. He became popular not nationally but internationally. Unfortunately Lincoln shoot by John Wilkes Booth on 14th April and died on 15th April 1865.
Throughout his life, Abraham Lincoln wondered if he would leave his mark on history. Today, 200 years after his birth, people around the world still find inspiration in his story. Like no other American, his life is matted with the history and culture of the nation. His rise from poverty to the presidency has inspired others to believe in the promise of opportunity. His success in protection a democratic nation is one of our greatest achievement and his death is American tragedy. Moreover uneducated politicians from the western boarder has encouraged generation with his generous spirit and his willingness to give his life so that Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not pass away from the earth. However Abraham Lincoln was a great leader and lawyer.

Springfield.
• Only serving a single term in the U.S. House of Representatives 1847-
1849 as he did not find many political allies
• His term in office may have been short-lived but he made use of it to
speak out against the Mexican-American War

• The comedy they were watching, Our

• John Wilkes Booth an actor in the play
had snuck off stage and found Lincoln and
fired a single shot to the back of his head
• He had the knowledge prior to that
evening that Lincoln would be there and
where he would be seated
• Booth had intended to abduct Lincoln in
hopes of reviving the Confederate cause
17. What was it about Lincoln that was unique to America
and to our study of history prior to 1865
• Lincoln had help to set the precedent for getting freedom for the
slaves
• He had been the first president assassinated which led to an uprising
cause in liberty
• He had written a very important document, the Emancipation
Proclamation. This would state that the slaves would be freed in
confederate territory
• Lincoln was our first president to lead the country into war
18. My thoughts on Lincoln
• I would be a supporter of Lincoln and his attribution to abolish slavery
• Lincoln as a person strived to do what was right for everyone
• He was a hard worker who had not been handed his property he
worked for everything and supported what he worked for
• Lincoln made sure to surround himself with people that would build
him up to help him to his greatness and achieve those goals
19. How the legacy of Lincoln portrayed on
todays society
• Lincoln had dedicated a large portion of his life to equality for all
• He was against the owning of slaves and had fought for them to
abolish slavery for years so the African Americans would have the
same rights as humans that white people did.
• His role put into effect the various amendments 13, 14, & 15. Which it
would almost take a full century for the 15th Amendment to be
followed as original intentions
• He is thought to be one of the greatest Presidents of all

• Lincoln was a hard worker who was not afraid to get his hands dirty
• He was different than most white people who of his career path as he
was not a slave owner.
• Lincoln had made more himself known by his ability to tell great
stories
• He was not liked by all due to his opposition of slavery

• He had been a lawyer, even tried a case in
front of the supreme court
• Lincoln was not born in the state of Illinois,
he moved there as a young man with his

president.

imprinted later onto the $5 bill and the
penny.
22. Fun Facts of the Lincoln Memorial
• Inside of the Lincoln memorial there is a
misspelled word. As it is made of marble and
each word was chiseled it was hard to correct
this mistake. “EUTURE, not future” is left as a
reminder of human fallibility.
• The Lincoln Memorial juts 66 feet into the
earth at its deepest point to support the
weight of the marble
• His hands are positioned in American Sign
Language letters A and L, Lincoln himself had
signed the charter for Gallaudet University

• Lincoln may have been murdered by John Wilkes Booth but earlier in
life he was saved from being hit by a train from his brother Edwin
Booth
• Lincoln was an accomplished wrestler making it into the Wrestling
Hall of Fame by the young age of 21; he was defeated only once in
about 300 matches.
• Lincoln never slept in the Lincoln bedroom, it was his personal office.
• He was the only president to have obtained a patent, No. 6469.
24. Conclusion:
Abraham Lincoln had a shortened life as it was taken from him selfishly.
He was self taught educationally which pushed him to strive even
further to reach beyond the attainable. He was a selfless man who
wanted to unite the nation.
