Serving as an independent non-Executive director at CBZ Holdings since April of 2020, Rebecca Gaskin Gain harnesses her more than 10 years of experience to help the company become the largest and most influential investment bank in Zimbabwe. During Rebecca Gaskin Gain’s second year in the position, the CBZ Holdings’ limited managing director, Peter Zimunya, announced his retirement. Zimunya’s banking career began in 1979, when he worked at Standard Chartered Bank. Once he joined CBZ Holdings in 1995, he took on various positions, including CEO. He served as limited managing director starting in 2012. Lawrence Nyazema, CBZ Holdings’ executive director of wholesale banking starting in January 2020, will replace Zimunya. Nyazema’s previous financial experience includes nearly 20 years at First Capital Bank, formerly called Barclays Bank, with nearly a decade of that time spent as the commercial director. Zimunya’s retirement took effect starting on December 31, 2021, so Nyazema’s role as managing director took effect on January 1, 2022.
