An experienced senior administrator and legal advisor, Rebecca Gaskin Gain has worked on government and private business initiatives in sectors that range from energy to banking. Since 2020, Rebecca Gaskin Gain has served as an independent non-executive director with CBZ Holdings. As the leading banking organization in Zimbabwe, CBZ Holdings acquired 31.22 percent of the large insurance and property group First Mutual Holdings in November of 2021. The deal has given CBZ a considerably stronger influence on the country’s general financial sector. In the wake of the acquisition, CBZ gained access to a sizable component of First Mutual’s extensive portfolio including the major short-term insurance provider NicozDiamond and multiple reinsurance entities. The independent newspaper The Standard reported that CBZ paid the equivalent of more than $60 million in US dollars for First Mutual in the acquisition deal. In the wake of the First Mutual acquisition, CBZ remained in aggressive expansion mode, considering the purchase of ZB Bank among other financial entities.
