The Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) seeks to promote access to and management of electronic information for member institutions. It works to improve library staff skills through training and helps its regional members collaborate with other library groups. SCELC fulfills its mission by licensing electronic resources, educating library staff, encouraging professional networking, sharing resources, supporting advocacy, enabling access, and providing benefits to libraries. The consortium recognizes the need for a strategic plan to guide its priorities and direction going forward.
