Brew Crew: For Organisational and Business Psychology, I as part of a five person group created, detailed, and
designed a “Brewery Company” business to psychologically evaluate the well-being of proposed businesses workers.
Each week, I assessed an aspect relative to any business such as: Selection/Appraisal, Training, Stress, Organisational
Attitude/ Behaviour likelihood, Leadership and Management, Teams and Organisation, Ergonomics, and
Organisational Change and Conflict Management. From a psychological perspective, I assessed the strengths and
weaknesses of different models or perspectives relating to the aspects and if applicable, I offered a model or
approach to resolve any issues. For my personal contribution I was awarded a B grade.

• Entrusted with responsibility of opening and closing the bar unaccompanied and to high standards.

• Received awards for noted excellent service from customers by the management and supervising staff.
• Dealing with customer complaints in hospitality roles within the Atholl Hotel.
2012 – 2013 The Royal Hotel Stonehaven – Barman

• Ability to deliver excellent service to the general public, even during very busy times.
• Experienced in stocking-up bar and estimating stock usage for each shift.

Leadership
• Demonstrating a high level of Leadership is an essential criterion in qualifying for and receiving the Princes
Trust Award, Duke of Edinburgh Award. Also true for the ILM certificate in Team Leading.
• Leadership roles in various settings including Student Representative of University Class, Secondary School
Vice-House Captain, Corporal Rank in Air Cadets, and as Sole Teacher to a primary school Drama class for
Princes Trust Award where the class provided much positive feedback.
• During the Millennium Volunteer 100 hours, a majority came from charitable fundraisers, personally
entrusted with managing stalls at fairs; Delegation of Tasks, Money Management, Secure Health and Safety
Risks (Archery Stall).
• Initiative during RGU Open Days to numerous roles undertaken to detail and explain the Applied Social
Science course for potential new students and their parents.
• University classes such as Effective and Ethical Leadership and Organisational and Management Psychology
focused predominately on leadership, both theoretically and practically, in order to develop our leadership
ability extensively. Skill further developed in this manner through Student Representative Role Workshop.
Team-Working and Communication
• Efficient team-work and communicative capability represented during RGU Open Days, achieving the Princes
Trust Award and Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and when teaching music class to Primary School Students.
Skills further developed in Student Representative role in university.
• Theoretical and Practical elements taught in Applied Social Sciences, particularly in Effective and Ethical
Leadership and Organisation and Business Psychology which focused on team-work and communication
within a business environment.
Negotiation
• From Negotiating in Groups within university courses, fellow employees and customers in part-time
employment, as well as negotiating the workload demands between them, my negotiation skills have
significantly increased throughout the years. Negotiation was particularly important in Organisation and
Management Psychology and Effective and Ethical Leadership where such qualities were essential to the
overall grade of the classes.
Organisation and Time Management
• As my priorities have changed through education work load, part-time employment, and leadership
activities, my capability to organise and manage time has continuously developed.
Information Technology
• Researching, analysing and interpreting data throughout Applied Social Science through Microsoft Office
Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.), Data Analysis Programs through systems such as SPSS, and
Independent Research for specific journals, graphs, data, etc. Specified personal skill exemplified in all
University Assessments.
