LeverX SAP ABAP Tutorial - Creating and Calling Web ServicesLeverX
The SAP Web Application Server allows companies to extend their solutions by exposing and integrating Web services. The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio provides an environment for publishing, discovering, and accessing Web services. Therefore, it allows the SAP Web Application Server to act both as a “server” and as a “client” for Web services.
LeverX SAP ABAP Tutorial Creating Function ModulesLeverX
SAP Function modules are procedures that are defined in special ABAP programs only, so-called function groups, but can be called from all ABAP programs. Function groups act as containers for function modules that logically belong together. You create function groups and function modules in the ABAP Workbench using the Function Builder.

eDevOps in HPSW from buzzword to realityAgileSparks
In recent years we see a major shift toward SaaS solutions. More and more HPSW customers prefer to consume products like Quality Center, Performance Center and Agile Project Management as a Service.
Meeting this increased demand for SaaS triggered a major shift within HP SW development groups and HP SaaS operations group to not only modernize our products and offering but also to modernized the way we develop, test, deploy and operate our software in a SaaS model by moving to DevOps.
In this session we will discuss how HPSW Dev and Ops joined forces to establish the right methodologies, processes and technologies to build a true DevOPs delivery model that is aligned across HP SW, starting with Agile Manager, our first true SaaS product and continuing with traditional products like Quality Center.
Today in SaaS for Agile Manager we have 4 farms located over 3 locations (3 regions – AMS, EMEA, APJ).
We have more than 120 customers and over 6000 of users login each day to our systems with over 1000 active tenants.
We have bi-weekly pushes and Quarterly major releases, comprehensive monitoring processes and extensive implementation of HP monitoring tools.
Over 4000 tickets handled by both Operations and R&D.
LeverX SAP Essential Tutorial - Simple Data ExtractionLeverX
Data extracting can be necessary in many business cases, but mostly for transferring data from one system to another. It could also be for other reasons, but let’s stick with the idea that we have sold a branch of our company and we need to transfer our data to the purchasing company.
DevOps Offerings:
We offer DevOps as a service. We offer DevOps consultation, implementation, training (formal and on job) and maintenance. We also offer development services for tools or ideas that are being developed in the DevOps field.
How we define DevOps:
DevOps is not just CI, CT, CD, Monitoring or Autoscaling. These are few of the tangible components that you need to put in place to design a better Ops process. DevOps at WH goes beyond this. DevOps is what you do so that you are able to grow your business, by overcoming the limitations of systems, infrastructure and also by providing the insights in the code to help in better development.

Keynote: Know the Way, Show the Way, Go the Way: Scaling Agile DevelopmentTechWell
Tired of the claims that Scrum, XP, and kanban don’t scale beyond a few teams? Overwhelmed by management’s resistance to the organizational changes needed to really follow agile principles? Concerned with the lack of proven practices required to scale agile methods to the next level? Exploring the Scaled Agile Framework™, Dean Leffingwell dispels these claims and answers these questions—and more. A publicly available set of practices for agile teams, projects, architectures, programs, and portfolios, this framework helps organizations scale lean and agile development from several small teams to hundreds—and even thousands—of practitioners. Working at companies including BMC Corporation and John Deere, Dean has discovered what works and what doesn’t work. He focuses on the critical role software development managers, leaders, and executives play in implementing and supporting the framework to achieve the full business benefits of enterprise agility.

LeverX Tutorial - SAP PLM Guided Structure Synchronization - Overview and Fun...LeverX
You use SAP PLM Guided Structure Synchronization (GSS) to transfer source structures from one application area, such as engineering, to target structures of another application area, such as manufacturing. The aim is to keep the target structure up-to-date. The system takes changes to structures into account in each synchronization and updates the target structure. Any differences between the source and target structure are displayed as conflicts with varying degrees of severity.
For example, you can transfer an engineering BOM to manufacturing and create a manufacturing BOM from it. You can transfer any subsequent changes to the engineering BOM to manufacturing by performing another synchronization.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms.
