Josh Christopherson presents his senior project of designing a cost-efficient solar battery charger. He was interested in engineering and science and hoped to study electrical engineering. For his project, he researched why solar energy has not been widely adopted and realized the high costs were from equipment needed to assemble the panels, not the panels themselves. Through the project, Josh discovered he wants to pursue a career in alternative energy to help make it more affordable. He believes the senior project can help students identify career goals but acknowledges seniors have other priorities like college applications and AP classes.
