To whom it may concern:
The intent of this letter is to convey my positive experiences and interactions I had with Miss
Filippello during her Co-op here at Mobile Dredging & Pumping Co. an environmental services
contracting company. Specifically, in my division, we handle contracts involving dredging and
mechanical dewatering services for water and waste water sludge and lake sediments.
As Miss Filippello’s immediate supervisor, I had direct daily contact with her. Some of her
duties included gathering samples in the field, bench testing, polymer evaluation, data entry,
AutoCAD, and various office duties.
Miss Filippello assisted me with throughout the contracting process. On several occasions she
accompanied and assisted in field sampling. She conducted herself well on the boat and while
collecting samples. Also as part of her duties, she performed jar tests for flocculation on the
samples to determine the dosage and effect of polymer on the samples collected. Her positive
attitude and ability to analyze a problem and develop a solution was a tremendous help both in
the field and the lab.
In addition to field work and lab duties she also applied her knowledge of AutoCAD and
provided help researching services and products needed for particular projects we were
bidding. While she did not have much experience with our industry she still performed well
researching regulatory requirements and obtaining quotes for products.
Miss Filippello conducted herself in a poised, professional, approachable and friendly manner
from the moment of her interview until her final duty was performed. She possesses a
warranted confidence in her abilities as a student, co-op, and engineer.
It was a very positive experience having Miss Filippello during her Co-op. She is dedicated,
focused and intelligent with a strong work ethic. She was a valued member of the team that, I
believe, would be an asset to whatever your company requires.
