The rationale is that involving at-risk communities in prevention programs empowers them to make informed choices. Vida/SIDA is a project of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center founded in 1988 to address HIV/AIDS in Chicago's Puerto Rican and Latino communities. It provides prevention programs, testing, and services to neighborhoods on the west and northwest sides of Chicago. Vida/SIDA conducts outreach, education, and testing and collaborates with various community partners. It hosts various annual events related to HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention and participates in cultural events in the Latino community. This session explored current work experiences in HIV care from a specialist point of view and looked at how current conditions impacted related care providers. Reflecting on the changing nature of HIV care and the changing needs of people living with HIV, the session examined the policy implications of a fragmented system and the patients' perspective on HIV care.
The Care Providers session was expected to lay the groundwork for a future session on the failing Health Economy as a leading issue.

Campus Health and Rights Initiative is a non-governmental organization located at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria that was established to address challenges related to reproductive health and sexual rights among young adults in Nigerian universities. 2.Synopsis.Regional_Lessons_Learned
This document summarizes the accomplishments and lessons learned from the AIDS Control and Prevention (AIDSCAP) Project implemented by Family Health International and funded by USAID. Over five years, AIDSCAP applied strategies of behavior change communication, STI prevention and control, and condom programming across 14 Latin American and Caribbean countries. It highlights the need to build on past successes by incorporating new strategies like gender sensitive initiatives, civil-military collaboration, religious-based initiatives, and care and management to more comprehensively address the HIV/AIDS pandemic. 2.Synopsis.Regional_Lessons_Learned
This document summarizes the accomplishments and lessons learned from the AIDS Control and Prevention (AIDSCAP) Project implemented by Family Health International and funded by USAID. Over five years, AIDSCAP applied strategies of behavior change communication, STI prevention and control, and condom programming across 14 Latin American and Caribbean countries. It highlights the need to build on past successes by incorporating new strategies like gender sensitive initiatives, civil-military collaboration, religious-based initiatives, and care and management to more comprehensively address the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The program organizers were proud that they could directly engage with the target group to learn about their attitudes and involve them in program planning.
Galz
The GALZ HIV/AIDS and STI Prevention Programme trains community volunteers called "buddies" to visit at-risk groups and provide information and prevention materials. Buddies are chosen based on location and maturity, and trained in reducing STI/HIV transmission, community mobilization, and encouraging positive living. Buddies work in male-female pairs, making regular home and community visits to disseminate information, condoms, and lubricant while reporting back with recommendations. Officers monitor the buddies to ensure quality in reaching at-risk communities.

The Prism Lifestyle Centre aims to provide a safe space for LGBT people that offers primary health care, psychosocial support services, and group activities to build skills and connections. It seeks to foster a sense of belonging, awareness of health risks, self-worth, and strategies for well-being among LGBT individuals and encourage them to share what they learn with their social networks.
Durban Centre
The survey aimed to understand the risk factors threatening the sexual health of lesbians and women who have sex with women (WSW) in Durban, South Africa. It interviewed 60 lesbians and WSW aged 15-35, with 75% Black African and 25% Indian/Asian. Many respondents had come out to friends and siblings but not parents. Reasons for not coming out varied and included fear of rejection. Health issues found included alcohol use by over 68% and drug use like marijuana. Rates of STIs and violence in relationships were low but underreporting was an issue. Access to sexual healthcare faced challenges like stigma and lack of lesbian-friendly services.

BONELA promotes human rights and inclusion for people affected by HIV/AIDS in Botswana through education, advocacy, legal aid, and awareness campaigns. They focus on rights in the workplace, testing, health, children, women, sexuality, and disabilities. One initiative saw BONELA spearhead a national campaign partnering with unions, students, and organizations for an HIV employment law to protect against discrimination, gathering over 13,000 signatures and conducting various media activities culminating in a petition to the Ministry of Labour. Lessons learned include that advocacy requires long-term commitment, investment, focus, and strong leadership.

The Dutch Ministry of Health plans to reduce annual funding for HIV/STI prevention programs that target men who have sex with men (MSM) and women who have sex with women (WSW) from 1.65 million euros to 1.45 million euros in 2008. These prevention programs rely on partnerships and networking to educate their target audiences through various means like talks and letters. Despite facing funding threats, the prevention programs were ultimately treated well through negotiations.
Lessons In Prevention Schorer
A structural intervention was implemented at public sex venues in Amsterdam starting in 2000 to address rising STI rates among men who have sex with men. The intervention had three main objectives: 1) overcoming barriers to safer sex behaviors and influencing social norms, 2) strengthening commitment to preventive behaviors at public sex venues, and 3) making condoms and lube freely available. The intervention was implemented in phases, starting with establishing agreements between public health organizations and sex venues to provide free condoms and health information. Initial results showed participating venues implemented free condom distribution and some improved hygiene facilities.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
