Version 02:
Nowadays, studying or living in foreign countries to pursue a brighter future life is increasingly
popular. Specifically, the developed countries are appealing destinations bringing an enormous chance for
people living in the underdeveloped nations. However, there are both benefits and drawbacks to making
the decision. In this essay, I will express possible reasons why going abroad is quite valuable and some
relevant challenges to be overcome.
Let’s begin by looking at the advantages of living abroad. The first positive aspect of moving away
is that it promotes your personal skills. Certainly, you will have the chance to live independently, which
could let you learn novel cultural values and traditional customs. Moreover, working with different
people’s backgrounds can expand your relationship network. For instance, you have a huge opportunity
to broaden your general and specialized knowledge and upgrade your personal skills like communication
and problem-solving skills when collaborating with one another, which may improve your career prospects
on your return.
Turning to the other hand of the argument, encountering a language barrier is a complicated
problem. Many people waste a lot of time learning new bilingual accents and practicing them fluently to
integrate with the local lifestyle. Otherwise, you will face culture shock if you cannot connect with the
inhabitants in certain communities effectively. In addition, struggling with finances is a critical issue for
students. Hence, students are likely to be depressed with the extravagant life expenses and tuition fees
when they do not have a job. It also lets the undergraduates spend more time working temporarily to cope
with the living cost.
Having looked at both sides, beginning a new life in a new country is a dream although it also
comes with downsides. You need to consider if the chance of moving away could make you more mature
and have a new career path, but preparing knowledge of the local culture and lifestyle is necessary, and
the disadvantages of the language barrier and living fees are always realistic. In my opinion, if you go with
thorough preparation, the value of living abroad for comprehensive personal growth and building your
career path will be a big milestone.
