– Taking a stand means to voice your
opinion on issues that are happening.
– To make a stand is to determine
effort to agree or disagree, to defend
something and to oppose or
commend something.
Here are the tips on how you can
make a stand.
1. Look at your own experiences.
2. Collect information about the topic.
3. Always base your opinion on facts.
4. Know what is right and wrong.
5. Always be on the right side.
6. Narrate your opinion properly by stating all your
reasons.
FACTS refers to a statement that can be
proven real for all people and places, can
be observed, historical, and 100% true.
On the other hand, an OPINION refers to
one’s feeling, thought, belief, or judgement
that is not 100% true and cannot be
proven.
EXAMPLES:
Claim Statement:
St. John Fisher School needs to lengthen
recess period because 20 minutes is not
enough for the learners to eat their snacks
Three Reasons:
1. most learners buy at the canteen
