Verse 208يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱدۡخُلُواْ فِى ٱلسِّلۡمِ ڪَآفَّةً۬ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَٲتِ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَڪُمۡ عَدُوٌّ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬
O you who believe! Enter Silm perfectly, and follow not the footsteps of Shaytan (Satan). Verily, he is to you a plain enemy.)
Themeof verseEntering Islam in its Entirety is obligated Allah commands His servants who believe in Him and have faith in His Messenger to implement all of Islam's legislation and law, to adhere to all of its commandments, as much as they can, and to refrain from all of its prohibitions.
يَـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً ﴿ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ﴾(Enter Silm) means Islam.﴿كَآفَّةً﴾ (...perfectly) means, in its entirety.
يَـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ادْخُلُواْ فِي السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً (O you who believe! Enter Silm perfectly) refers to the believers among the People of the Scripture. This is because they believed in Allah, some of them still followed some parts of the Tawrah and the previous revelations.
﴿وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَتِ الشَّيْطَـنِ﴾ and follow not thefootstepsofShaytanmeaning, performtheactsofworship and avoidwhat Satan commandsyou to do
إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ verily, he is to you an openenemy.
Verse 209فَإِن زَلَلۡتُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡڪُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتُ فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَڪِيمٌ
 Then if you slide back after the clear signs (Prophet Muhammad , and this Qur'an and Islam) have come to you, then know that Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise).
﴿فَإِن زَلَلْتُمْ مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْكُمُ الْبَيِّنَـتُ﴾ Thenifyou slide back aftertheclearsigns have come to youmeaning, ifyoudeviate from theTruthafterclearproofs have beenestablishedagainstyou,
﴿فَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ﴾ then know that Allah is All-Mighty in His punishment and noonecanescape His vengeance or defeat Him.(All-Wise) in His decisions, actions and rulings.
Verse 210هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ظُلَلٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡغَمَامِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕڪَةُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ‌ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ
Do they then wait for anything other than that Allah should come to them over the shadows of the clouds and the angels (Then) the case would be already judged. And to Allah return all matters (for decision).)
Themeof verseDo not delay embracing the Faith
﴿هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي ظُلَلٍ مِّنَ الْغَمَامِ وَالْمَلَـئِكَةُ﴾(Do they then wait for anything other than that Allah should come to them over the shadows of the clouds and the angels) on the Day of Resurrection to judge the early and the latter creations. Allah shall then reward each according to his or her deeds; and whoever does good shall see it, and whoever does evil shall see it.This is why Allah said:
وَقُضِىَ الأَمْرُ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُورُ(Then) the case would be already judged. And to Allah return all matters (for decision).
Verse 211سَلۡ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ كَمۡ ءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُم مِّنۡ ءَايَةِۭ بَيِّنَةٍ۬‌ۗ وَمَن يُبَدِّلۡ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
 Ask theChildrenof Israel howmanyclearAyat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) We gave them. And whoeverchangesAllah'sfavorafter it has come to him, ﴿e.g., renouncesthe religion of Allah (Islam) and acceptsKufr (disbelief)﴾ thensurely, Allah is severe in punishment.)
Themeof verseThe Punishment for changing Allah's Favor and mocking the Believers
سَلْ بَنِى إِسْرَءِيلَ كَمْ آتَيْنَـهُم مِّنْ آيَةٍ بَيِّنَةٍAllah mentioned that the Children of Israel, They were witnesses to many clear signs that attest to the truth of Prophet Moses regarding what he was sent with for them.
﴿وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ﴾And whoever changes Allah's favor after it had come to him, then surely, Allah is severe in punishment.
Verse 212زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَيَسۡخَرُونَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ‌ۘ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرۡزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٍ۬
Beautified is thelifeofthis world for thosewhodisbelieve, and theymock at thosewhobelieve. Butthosewho have Taqwa, will be abovethemonthe Day ofResurrection. And Allah gives (of His bounty, blessings, favors, and honorsonthe Day ofResurrection) to whom He willswithout limit.)
زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاThen Allah states that He has made the life of this world beautiful for the disbelievers who are satisfied with it, who collect wealth, but refrain from spending it on what they have been commanded, which could earn them Allah's pleasure.
وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواInstead, they ridicule the believers who ignore this life and who spend whatever they earn on what pleases their Lord.
وَالَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ The believers spend seeking Allah's Face, and this is why they have gained the ultimate happiness and the best share on the Day of the Return. Therefore, they will be exalted above the disbelievers at the Gathering Place, when they are gathered, during the resurrection and in their final destination. The believers will reside in the highest grades in the utmost highs, while the disbelievers will reside in the lowest of lows (in the Fire).
﴿وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ﴾This Ayah indicates that Allah gives sustenance to whomever He wills of His servants without count or limit in this and the Hereafter.
Verse 213كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ وَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۖ فَهَدَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَهۡدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
 Mankind was one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent down the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to the straight path).
Themeof verseDisputing, after the Clear Signs have come, indicates Deviation
كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَحِدَةًMeans; "They all had the guidanceThen : They disputed and Allah sent ProphetsThe first to be sent was Nuh."
﴿فَهَدَى اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ﴾ They disputed about the day of Congregation (Friday). The Jews made it Saturdaythe Christians chose Sunday. Allah guided the Ummah of Muhammad to Friday.
They also disputed about the true Qiblah. The Christians faced the east  the Jews faced Bayt Al-Maqdis. Allah guided the Ummah of Muhammad to the true Qiblah (Ka`bah in Makkah).
وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ And Allah guides whom He willsmeans from among His creation
إِلَى صِرَطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ to the straight waymeaning; He commandsthedecision and theclearproof.
Verse 214أَمۡ حَسِبۡتُمۡ أَن تَدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأۡتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوۡاْ مِن قَبۡلِكُم‌ۖ مَّسَّتۡہُمُ ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلۡزِلُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ ۥ مَتَىٰ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصۡرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ۬
 Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the help of Allah'' Yes! Certainly, the help of Allah is near!)
Themeof verseVictory only comes after succeeding in the Trials
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَOr thinkyouthatyouwillenterParadisebeforeyouaretested and tried just like thenationsthatcamebeforeyou
وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِكُم(...without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you They were afflicted with: Illnesses pain disastershardships
مَّسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَآءُ وَالضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلْزِلُواْ الْبَأْسَآءِpovertyوَالضَّرَّآءِailments. وَزُلْزِلُواfor fearoftheenemy, and weretested, and put to a tremendous trial
﴿وَزُلْزِلُواْ حَتَّى يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ مَتَى نَصْرُ اللَّهِ﴾ They pleaded (to Allah) for victory against their enemiesinvoked Him for aiddeliverance from their hardship and trialsأَلاَ إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ
Verse 215يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ‌ۖ قُلۡ مَآ أَنفَقۡتُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَلِلۡوَٲلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ وَٱلۡيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَـٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ‌ۗ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ۬
 They ask you (O Muhammad ) what they should spend. Say: "Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and Al-Masakin (the poor) and the wayfarer, and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allah knows it well.'')
Themeof verseWho deserves the Nafaqah (Spending or Charity)
This Ayah was revealed about the voluntary charity
They ask you (O Muhammad ) how they should spend
Spend it on these categories or areasفَلِلْوَلِدَيْنِParents وَالاٌّقْرَبِينَ		Relatives وَالْيَتَـمَى Orphansوَالْمَسَـكِينَ Poorpeopleوَابْنِ السَّبِيلِWayfarer
وَمَا تَفْعَلُواْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌand whateveryou do ofgooddeeds, truly, Allah knows it well.meaning, whateveryouperformofgoodworks, Allah knowsthem and He willrewardyou for them in the best manner, noonewill be dealtwithunjustly, eventheweightof an atom.

    ﴿فَهَدَى اللَّهُ الَّذِينَءَامَنُواْ لِمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ﴾ They disputed about the day of Congregation (Friday). The Jews made it Saturdaythe Christians chose Sunday. Allah guided the Ummah of Muhammad to Friday.
  • 35.
    They also disputedabout the true Qiblah. The Christians faced the east the Jews faced Bayt Al-Maqdis. Allah guided the Ummah of Muhammad to the true Qiblah (Ka`bah in Makkah).
  • 36.
    وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِى مَنيَشَآءُ And Allah guides whom He willsmeans from among His creation
  • 37.
    إِلَى صِرَطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍto the straight waymeaning; He commandsthedecision and theclearproof.
  • 38.
    Verse 214أَمۡ حَسِبۡتُمۡأَن تَدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأۡتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوۡاْ مِن قَبۡلِكُم‌ۖ مَّسَّتۡہُمُ ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلۡزِلُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ ۥ مَتَىٰ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصۡرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ۬
  • 39.
    Or thinkyou that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the help of Allah'' Yes! Certainly, the help of Allah is near!)

  • 41.
    أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنتَدْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَOr thinkyouthatyouwillenterParadisebeforeyouaretested and tried just like thenationsthatcamebeforeyou
  • 42.
    وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُالَّذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِكُم(...without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you They were afflicted with: Illnesses pain disastershardships
  • 43.
    مَّسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَآءُ وَالضَّرَّآءُوَزُلْزِلُواْ الْبَأْسَآءِpovertyوَالضَّرَّآءِailments. وَزُلْزِلُواfor fearoftheenemy, and weretested, and put to a tremendous trial
  • 44.
    ﴿وَزُلْزِلُواْ حَتَّى يَقُولَالرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ مَتَى نَصْرُ اللَّهِ﴾ They pleaded (to Allah) for victory against their enemiesinvoked Him for aiddeliverance from their hardship and trialsأَلاَ إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ
  • 45.
    Verse 215يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَايُنفِقُونَ‌ۖ قُلۡ مَآ أَنفَقۡتُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَلِلۡوَٲلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ وَٱلۡيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَـٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ‌ۗ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ۬
  • 46.
    They askyou (O Muhammad ) what they should spend. Say: "Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and Al-Masakin (the poor) and the wayfarer, and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allah knows it well.'')

    Themeof verseWho deservesthe Nafaqah (Spending or Charity)
  • 48.
    This Ayah wasrevealed about the voluntary charity
  • 49.
    They ask you(O Muhammad ) how they should spend
  • 50.
    Spend it onthese categories or areasفَلِلْوَلِدَيْنِParents وَالاٌّقْرَبِينَ Relatives وَالْيَتَـمَى Orphansوَالْمَسَـكِينَ Poorpeopleوَابْنِ السَّبِيلِWayfarer
  • 51.
    وَمَا تَفْعَلُواْ مِنْخَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌand whateveryou do ofgooddeeds, truly, Allah knows it well.meaning, whateveryouperformofgoodworks, Allah knowsthem and He willrewardyou for them in the best manner, noonewill be dealtwithunjustly, eventheweightof an atom.
