The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

How To Be A Leader With Multi-level Marketing
It makes sense to grow your business through
network marketing, especially if you conduct business
online. A great deal of ef f ort is necessary in order to
be successf ul. You will then wonder where to start in
increasing you prof its.
Multilevel marketing can be a game where you f ight to
sign up the most people. Instead, look at what you
can do to help others, and then work f rom there.
Network Marketing
When you’re engaged in network marketing, it’s
imperative that you are able to visualize success as you def ine it. Although it sounds generic and trite,
seeing your success with this kind of marketing can determine just how successf ul you can become. Take
the time to think about your network marketing projects, and visualize them with as many details as you
can.
To help you concentrate on the goals you have set f or your multilevel marketing business, make a vision
board. Exactly what are your goals f or your business? Do you want material wealth as your goal, a sports
car or a big house?
Time spent with your f amily and f riends is a guaranteed stress reducer, so don’t f orget to make time f or
them. You might have to spend a little more time working on your business in the beginning, but as you start
to see money coming in, you may be able to spend time with your f amily.
Make sure that you consistently use an e-mail database f or successf ul MLM. You can either purchase
these lists, or make one f rom the f eedback that you get on your website. Having a large email list will help
you keep your business growing.
When conversing with contacts, you should encourage them to lead the discussion. Learning about
someone, whether through the internet or f ace-to-f ace conversation, gives you marketing inf ormation you
can use to persuade him to buy your products. You will learn a lot about your clients such as what they’re
looking f or and what they like, so you can market more ef f ectively towards them.
The f inancial experts agree that the calculation you should be using is your monthly spending times nine,
the total being what you need to have on hand in case of emergency. One way to build that nest egg that
you can depend upon is through ef f ective network marketing.
Consider paying an outsource company to do your network marketing. This can be especially benef icial if
you’re short on the manpower or capital required by this advertising f orm. You can use the time you gain by
outsourcing f or more important business matters and still get a good return on your advertising.
Think outside the proverbial “box” whenever you are writing copy. Cover ALL the bases!
Customers come f irst! In multilevel marketing your f ocus should be on your customers’ needs. If your
customers are not satisf ied, you are going to go out of business quickly. Set a goal to listen f or at least
80% of the conversation and talk the other 20% of the time.
Network marketers looking f or a psychological edge would do well to check out neuro-linguistic
programming. Alternatively, when you are trying to close a sale with a client, include various “you”
2. statements. ”
Multilevel Marketing
Multilevel marketing is like any other business; it demands commitment. A lot of the marketers who f ail do
so because they don’t have their whole heart in it. If you put suf f icient time and energy into multilevel
marketing, it can become a real job. To start of f on the right f oot, be sure to learn as much about MLM as
you can.
Attract people with discounts. Look f or a company in network marketing that gives you coupons to
distribute to your customers. There are several marketing strategies you can use that involve coupons. For
example, you can distribute them to loyal customers, or start a raf f le with coupon prizes. An item that is
discounted in price will always get the interest of buyers.
As was implied in the reading, MLM does indeed call f or you to put in a bit of ef f ort in order to reap the
f inancial reward. It is something that you must work at consistently to see results. But, if you keep the
advice provided to you here at the f oref ront of your mind, you will already be on the path to success.
To Your Success
