Our Story
Lemonade Day was brought to
Indianapolis in 2010 by local
entrepreneur, Scott Jones. Scott
started Lemonade Day in
Indianapolis because he noticed that
fewer and fewer kids were engaging
in entrepreneurial activities like
mowing lawns or starting lemonade
stands. And yet many entrepreneurs
talk about their early childhood
experiences starting lemonade
stands, or delivering newspapers, as
the moment when the “light bulb
went off.”

Featured Entrepreneur
Meet Clayton! Clayton is a fifth grader in Cherokee, Texas (recently relocated from
Indianapolis, Indiana). Since he first heard about Lemonade Day 3 years ago, he has
used his creativity to create attention-getting lemonade stands based on unique
themes. When asked about his favorite thing he learned, he responded: “I learned
about philanthropy at a lemonade day workshop I attended. I like the idea of giving
part of your earnings to help others.” To see the rest of Clayton’s interview, click
