1. FAMILY WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
Upon completing this workshop, families of the AUBG student will be able to…
 Recognize what a liberal arts education means for the student in terms of classroom
expectations, campus environment, and coursework.
 Understand ways in which the student may have trouble transitioning to AUBG and
recommend pragmatic ways for the student to resolve any hardships pertaining to that
transition.
 Examine the safety and security measures in place at AUBG and feel confident in the
students’ safety.
 Perceive the importance of co-curricular involvement of the student while at AUBG and
the learning that takes place in such involvement.
 Demonstrate an understanding of the ‘challenge and support’ model in terms of being the
best support system for the student.
 Formulate ideas in which you and other supporters of the student can be of the upmost
help to that student’s growth while at AUBG.
2. STUDENT SERVICES MEETING OUTCOMES
Upon completing these meetings, students will be able to…
 Articulate (in general terms) the services offered within the Student Services Office at
AUBG.
 Determine what each office can offer you personally within Student Services.
 Formulate the beginning of a professional relationship with the Student Services staff in
order to feel more comfortable utilizing the offices later on.
 Explain the necessity of Student Services at AUBG and describe the benefits inherent in
having these offices on campus.
3. DIVERSITY TRAINING OUTCOMES
Upon completing this training, students will be able to…
 Discuss the definition of diversity as well as its importance at AUBG and, in a broader
perspective, society across the world.
 Compare his/her own diverse identities to the diverse identities of other AUBG students
in a respectful and academic manner.
 Recognize the fact that AUBG respects all forms of identities and that exploring diversity
majorly important at the university.
 Illustrate ways in which to solve issues amongst the AUBG student population regarding
diversity.
 Develop a respect and interest in people of other cultural backgrounds who are present at
AUBG.
4. CIVILITY ON CAMPUS OUTCOMES
Upon completing this training, students will be able to…
 Recognize behaviors that are not appropriate to exercise during your time as an AUBG
Griffin.

 Understand that while you may be off campus, students still represent AUBG and the
reputation the university upholds.
 Develop an understanding of the judicial processes that can occur due to inappropriate
behavior.
 Start to formulate your own civil identity as an AUBG Griffin.
5. COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT OUTCOMES
Upon completing this project, students will be able to…
 Relate their identity as an AUBG griffin to their identity as a community member of
Blagoevgrad.
 Recognize the needs of Blagoevgrad and your responsibility to aid in those needs when
possible.
 Form connections throughout the community that extend past the university.
 Imagine ways in which community service can further impact AUBG, Blagoevgrad, and
the town you came from.
6. TRIP TO RILA MONASTERY OUTCOMES
Upon completing this excursion, students will be able to…
 Articulate the importance of the site to Bulgarian culture and other cultures of the region.
