How do you report today?

A data lake is a system or repository of data stored in its natural/raw format,
usually object blobs or files. A data lake is usually a single store of all
enterprise data including raw copies of source system data and transformed
data used for tasks such as reporting, visualization, advanced analytics and
machine learning. A data lake can include structured data from relational
databases (rows and columns), semi-structured data ( CSV, logs, XML, JSON),
unstructured data (emails, documents, PDFs) and binary data (images, audio,
video).

Why is a data lake important?

• The data tables we now have need to be joined to establish the
relational database schema that will power any resulting analysis or
reporting requirements
• It is at this point that we can start to look at how to join LMS data to data
from other sources such as SFDC
• User and organization provisioning into the LMS from SFDC for
Customers and Partners means we already hold data that is common to
both the LMS and SFDC
So, the data is now in the data lake.

much easier for anyone interested in
gleaning insight from data to dig in.
