• A lot of behind the scenes work goes into this program,
including soliciting applications for partial funding,
scheduling presenting sites for the year as well as
developing schedules/agendas on a monthly basis,
sending out notices, coordinating program with
individual sites and bridging company
• Education calls are scheduled a year in advance with
time spent finding applicable topics that address the
different NCA accreditation standards, different MDT
disciplines and address topics of national interest and
trends. National speakers are contracted with by
MRCAC. We cover the consulting fees and equipment
fees.
16. NCA n.e.t.
• Program evaluation was conducted December 2009 which
revealed that no changes were suggested for the MDT Case
Review or Spanish speaking f.i. calls
• Medical peer review was changed to only have two cases
presented per call instead of three so that more time for
discussion would be allowed
• Forensic interview peer review calls were not changed in
format, however, sites have been encouraged to provide
more constructive feedback instead of only positive
comments; need to know areas of improvement as well
• Very positive comments on overall program, bridging
company, moderators, coordination of program and
offerings

coordinates and runs the entire program

with and to give updates on what is going on in the
region and/or nationally. During these calls, depending
on what is happening with the individual center,
customized trainings are offered and/or suggested.
24. Biannual CAC Calls
• January 2010 survey done with all centers to evaluate
program.
• We surveyed regarding medical evaluations: 43.4%
provide less than 20 exams/year with the majority of
centers citing reason for non-exams as lack of
medical providers or MDT chose not to have exam
done-not necessary
25. Biannual CAC Calls
• NCA Accreditation standards causing the most
difficulty are mental health and medical evaluation
• Over 75% of our centers have used the NCA n.e.t
education calls and 55% have participated in journal
club calls
• Over 96% said they would utilize online training if
available
• Over 80% utilize the MRCAC website

region and/or nationally. During these calls, depending
on what is happening with the individual center,
customized trainings are offered and/or suggested.

• Customized trainings are scheduled at the convenience
of the center and trainers. The trainings are tailored to
address the needs of the individual CAC.
• We use trainers that have had extensive training in their
respective field and area of instruction
• CEUs are available for many of these trainings
30. Pediatric SANE
Training
• Based upon feedback during the biannual survey,
the medical standard is causing great difficulty for
some centers, especially rural.
• More centers are starting to use SANE/SART
nurses, however, these nurses need pediatric
training
• We plan to provide a 3 day pediatric SANE
training this Fall for our region, bringing in a
national pediatric SANE/SART trainer.
• More to come on date, location, etc.
