Editor's Notes

  • #2 Why am a I here? A question often asked. The bible tells us that God has a purpose for our lives that he intended even before we were born.
  • #3 Rick Warren wrote a best seller…Purpose Driven life. In it he outlines 5 reasons why were are here. He outlines 5 purposes for our existence. The first is that we were created for God’s pleasure… I have this rock garden under our porch…No one helped me with it. I am constantly tweeking it…making it better. Why did I create it? I wanted to have something nice to look at when I pulled into the driveway and got out of my car. No matter what happened that day, the pleasure of my rock garden would greet me when I got home. What does it mean that we were created for God’s pleasure? He created us not because he needed to but because he wanted to. Bringing enjoyment to Go is the first purpose of our existence and anything we do to bring God joy can be called worship.
  • #4 Translated…we were created to worship him. Worship is more than an activity we do Sunday morning. Its more than a religious experience. Rick Warren writes: “where you worship is not as important as why you worship and how much of yourself you offer to God when you worship.” Everything we do can become an act of worship if done for God’s glory and for his pleasure. Its like being in love and thinking of the one you love no matter what you do.
