Car Exhaust Presently Car exhaust is still a big problem in many countries but it is very bad in China who has the second most cars in the world mainly because cars are a symbol of wealth in China and because of China’s massive population. One example would be in Shanghai, a major city in China, where car exhaust causes about 80 percent of the air pollution they have there. China is trying to fix this though. Massive steps have been taken in upgrading mass-transit and cars have been taken off the streets every day. The United States has the worst car exhaust pollution for sure. They have the most cars therefore creating the most car exhaust. Strides have been taken in cleaning up the mess though. Public transportation and carpooling is all encouraged and different cars have been made which don’t spew as much crud into the air.
5. How is Car Exhaust a Global Problem? Car exhaust is all around the world. Many countries have changed from their bicycles and legs to cars. Now many people do not choose to walk a few blocks or ride a bicycle. Cars have modernized the world yet has made vulnerable our Earth and ourselves. Car exhaust is really dangerous to our environment and our habitat. Car exhaust can pollute the air changing our oxygen intake into a mixture of nasty toxins and chemicals. Pollution affects the air all around us. Now so many areas have cars that pollution is reaching an immense level. By making our world dirty, soon our planet can not be inhabited by humans and the movie Wall-e is going to be a reality. Car exhaust remains in our planet for about a decade before they break down. Car exhaust also affects the O-zone layer. The Ozone layer protects Earth’s living organism, which includes us, from dangerous radioactive light which can eliminate life on Earth. Car Exhaust destroys our precious layer of O-3 which allows dangerous things to seep through. Since the Ozone layer is around the whole Earth, the disappearance of the layer is harmful to all people on this planet regardless of our skin, ethnicity, and nationality.

Obama asked investors to put in $1300 per new vehicle until 2016. The investments would be paid off by not spending as much money at the pump. In Colorado, Lightning Hybrids announced that it will debut it L4 model, that has reached 100 miles per gallon fuel efficiency based on a biodiesel-electric hybrid engine. The LH4 sports a 90 horsepower, 2-cycle engine, and will be available at retail by 2010 with a price tag of $39,000-$59,000. Lightning Hybrids is a competitor in the X Prize 100 mpg competition sponsored by Progressive, that will award a $10 million prize to the company that first develops a 100 mpg vehicle.
