This document summarizes Alexion's activities and key messages from three European congresses in 2016 focused on hepatology and lipidology. The congresses aimed to raise awareness of lysosomal acid lipase deficiency (LAL-D) and novel treatment options. Alexion attended the congresses with commercial booths, symposia, and market research. LAL-D is a rare genetic disorder caused by LAL enzyme deficiency that causes multi-organ damage. It can be misdiagnosed due to similarities with other conditions but diagnosis is important to identify patients who may benefit from new enzyme replacement therapy.
