Electrophoresis is a technique that uses an electric current to separate macromolecules like DNA and proteins based on size and charge. Samples are loaded into an agarose gel matrix and placed in a running buffer solution, then an electric current causes the samples to migrate through the gel at different rates depending on their properties, allowing for separation and analysis.
