Fernando Vallejo wrote the novel La virgen de los sicarios that was adapted into a film directed by Barbet Schroeder. The film follows Fernando, a writer who returns to his hometown of Medellín, Colombia and becomes involved with teenage male assassins. It explores themes of violence, drugs, and homosexuality in Colombia.

Our lady of assassins(la virgen de los sicarios ) is a
action and drama film which was directed by Barbet
Schroeder who is Frenchman and it was written by
Fernando Vallejo who has been recognized by his
great job in virgen de los sicarios book. The cast
includes German Jaramillo as Fernando who
characterizes a homosexual person, Anderson
Ballesteros as Alexis who characterizes a killer
adolescent, Juan David Restrepo as Wilmar who
characterizes a Alexis´ killer

non-Latin America in Havana film festival 2000,it
was nominated to the PFS award in the category
expose in Political film society USA 2002,also was
nominated to the Golden satellite award in the
category best motion picture, foreign language in
satellite award 2002, it was nominated to the
golden lion award and won the president of Italian
senate´s gold medal in Venice film festival 2000 and
won rosebud award in the category best film in the
Verzaubet-international Gay and lesbian film
festival.

5. The plot revolves around killer’s people who work with
drugs trafficking persons and they should protect their
life and the families´ life. Fernando is a writer and
homosexual man who returns to the city of his
birth, Medellin, Colombia, he has been surprised because
the violence increase in adolescents and also he has been
attracted by teenage male prostitutes, after a month he
fell in love of Alexis a Guy who work killing persons, he is
16 years old and become to live with Fernando. Alex is
murdered by wilmar because wilmar wanted to take
revenge brother death, Fernando suffer a lot of and after
he know to Wilmar and fell in love again but when he
realize that wilmar is Alexis killer, he want to killer but do
not it because he know the reason and in the end wilmar
is murdered.

6. Actually I don´t like this movie, I am really boring
that all the things about Colombian is just sex,
violence, prostitution, drugs trafficking, and
things like that. Those are the kind of movie
Colombia don´t need to change our image
