The poem describes the changing of the seasons from fall to winter. The trees change color from red to yellow as their leaves tremble in the hot sun. The wind blows the leaves from the trees until they are piled at the port. When someone walks outside, they crunch the fallen leaves. The mosquitoes hide away as winter approaches. The frightened flowers quickly close up.
