Soil Erosion andSedimentation
Control
2
Intent:
To reduce pollution from construction activities by controlling soil erosion, waterway sedimentation, and airborne
dust that disproportionately impact frontline communities.
IMPLEMENTATION MEASURES
1. Water bodies within 50ft from construction
site
2. Stormwater infiltration
3. Sediment controls
4. Sediment track-out
5. Stockpile management
6. Dust suppression measures
7. Top soil preservation
8. Minimise soil compaction
9. Protect storm drain inlet
10. Sedimentation basin

Implementation Measure:
Provide and maintain natural buffers and/or equivalent erosion and sediment controls when a water body is located within 50
feet of the construction site.

Sediment track-
out
6
Implementation Measure:
•Restrict vehicle use to properly designated exit points.
• Where sediment has been tracked-out from your site onto paved roads, sidewalk, or other paved areas outside of your site,
remove (sweeping, shoveling or vacuuming) the deposited sediment by the end of the same business day in which the track-
out occurs or by the end of the next business day if track-out occurs on a non-business day.

stormwater flow is concentrated.
• Cover stockpiles that are unused for 14 days or more.

Minimise soil
compaction
10
Implementation Measure:
Inareas of site where final vegetative stabilization will occur or where infiltration practices will be installed,
• Restrict vehicle and equipment use in these locations to avoid soil compaction.
• Before seeding or planting areas of exposed soil that have been compacted, use techniques that rehabilitate and condition
the soils as necessary to support.

Protect storm drain
inlet
11
ImplementationMeasure:
• Install inlet protection measures that remove sediment from discharges prior to entry into any storm drain inlet that carries
stormwater
flow from your site to a water body.
• Clean, or remove and replace, the protection measures as sediment accumulates, the filter becomes clogged, and/or
performance is compromised.

basin
12
Implementation Measure:
• Providetemporary sedimentation basin to divert & capture the rain water generated during construction.
• Design the basin or impoundment to provide storage for calculated volume of runoff from a 2-year, 24-hour
storm.

Intent:
To reduce construction and demolition waste disposed of in landfills and incineration facilities through waste prevention and
by reusing, recovering, and recycling materials, and conserving resources for future generations.
IMPLEMENTATION MEASURES
1. Reusing construction waste on-site.
2. Store and segregate construction waste on-site with permanent
signage.

training
Implementation Measure:
•Train construction workers and site managers on IAQ (Indoor air quality) control measures, including the importance of
minimizing dust, proper use of chemicals, and maintaining ventilation.
• Post signs and provide communication to reinforce IAQ (Indoor air quality) practices and remind workers of their
responsibilities.

Implementation Measure:
Major HVACequipment and ductwork should be sealed at the factory and wrapped completely in a non-porous covering.
Prior to operation, all installed duct openings shall be covered with a non-porous material to prevent airborne contaminants,
debris and moisture from entering the duct.

platform
ImplementationMeasure:
• DG set used in the project should be placed away (more than 8m) from the construction area and the exhaust is placed
facing away from the site.
• All the paints, coatings, adhesives and sealants used in the project should be stored in a raised platform with vent to
minimize the
indoor air pollution during construction.

storage
ImplementationMeasure:
• All absorbent materials shall be covered on all six sides and elevated to prevent absorption, preferably stored in a
container or inside the building.
• In the event an absorbent material gets moist, it shall be replaced, even if already installed.
• Unless required, installed drywall shall not touch the floor. This will limit absorption of liquids.

measures
Implementation Measure:
• Ensurethat all the finished construction zone are provided with mats such that dirt from boots and tires are removed before
entering the construction zone.
• Ensure a pressure differential between completed or existing areas and work areas, sufficient to prevent airborne
contaminates from spreading to finished spaces.
