Research Topic
Lizards in Water:
Narrowed Topics:
(1) What is a lizard? Description of what a lizard is according to science.
(2) Different types of lizards and specifically name the kind of lizards that can
adapt themselves in water.
(3) Important characteristics of a lizard: what adaptations does a lizard have
that help it survive in its environment, specially in water?
Hypothesis:
1. There are different types of lizards but not all them are able to adapt in water.
2. Lizards have the ability to adapt themselves in water because of their innate
characteristics
3. There must be a specific type and characteristics in lizard that give them the
ability to adapt themselves in water.
Plan of Investigation and Materials Needed in the Investigation:
(1) Define and properly formulate the problem that I wanted to research about.
(2) Prepare all my needed materials in this study.
Materials that I would be needing in this study:
(a) Books especially science books and dictionary too.
(b) My pc (personal computer) which is connected to the internet.
(c) Special articles on lizards which can be found in the library or from the
internet or magazines if there is anything that I can find.
(d) If possible collect some photo of lizards that are able to adapt
themselves in water
(3) Collect and make record of important data by reading books and articles
that are related to my research topic. In this case, about lizards descriptions,
different types and its characteristics in adaptations to its environment
(4) Analyze the data and find out what studies or facts have said about lizard
which will lead me to answer the stated problem I have formulated earlier.
(5) Make a written summary report on what I found in my research.
(6) Make my own conclusion from all the data I have collected. I will try to
state in my conclusion if indeed there are lizards that are able to adapt in water
and whether the innate characteristics of the lizards enable them to adapt
themselves in water.
