Stockpiling Vs. Hoarding
Stockpiling
• Goal is to use coupons
on sale items and stock
up during that time.
• How many people are in
my family?
• How much of this product
does my family go
through?
• How much space do I
have to totally commit to
stockpiling?
Hoarding
• Goal is to get as many
products as you can
regardless if you need
them or not.
• You have tons of
something that you do not
need but you continue to
accumulate more.
Things You Will Never Pay

Plan With Coupons
Rules of Thumb:
 You cannot stack manufacturer coupons anywhere
 Many stores will not allow a coupon on the Free item in a
BOGO sale
 All stores have register line limits, keep it to a reasonable
number of items per transaction or break the transaction
up into multiple transactions.
 Some stores have limits on the number of coupons in a
transaction. Don’t be afraid to break up your purchases
into smaller transactions to stay within the store’s
coupon policy.
Essentially: KNOW YOUR STORE’S
POLICY
How Many Coupons Can I
Use?
• “Stacking” is using multiple coupons on one item
• Only ONE of each of the following is allowed:
Manufacturer’s Coupon
Store Coupon
Rebate (MIR)
• These can be combined:
Smartphone app (such as Ibotta, Shopkick)
Credit Card Rewards
