3. Terminology
•Coupons – available from various sources
•MQ – Manufacturer Coupon
•SQ – Store Coupon
•Insert – packets of coupons available in the paper
•Catalina - a coupon or offer that prints at the register
•Stacking – using more than one type of coupon/deal on an
item
•BOGO – Buy one, get one free
•Sale Cycle – time of year, month when items go on sale

•Stockpile – lowest price usually seen for an item
•Coupon Policy – Each store has their own policy, become
familiar with them, YOU are responsible for following, even if
their cashiers or registers do not catch incorrect coupons

4. Plan the Week Before
Most shopping planning websites and apps will announce the
upcoming deals starting on Thursday or Friday the week before
the ad is released. Start making notes of deals they are
highlighting. Keep a running list as you come across deals on
various websites and Facebook news feeds.
I like to use an RSS Feeder to receive updates from websites.
You will shop for not just items of immediate need, but items at
stockpile pricing. Try not to be brand loyal.

• Watch for their symbols or wording which indicate stockpile pricing.

Create an e-mail account on gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo,
whomever you choose, just for your shopping/couponing
activities
Keep your regular e-mail uncluttered
Consider doing the same for FB

•Weekly coupon inserts in the newspaper – two subscriptions, ask neighbors
for theirs, date of insert on edge of insert
•SUGGESTION 2 – PULL INSERTS APART AND STACK TO SAVE TIME
CUTTING
•IP – Internet printable – print two per IP address NEVER copy, look for
unique numbers – coupons.com, replum.org, smartsource.com (java issues
at times)
•Manufacturer websites/newsletters
•Displays or booklets in stores
•Coupon clipping services – order on-line, minimal charge, you are paying for
their service, not their coupons, it is ILLEGAL to sell coupons
•Electronic/Store coupons – Kroger, mPerks, Target, various apps such as
SavingsStar and Cellfire

11. Match-Up Apps
I usually start my list each week with Favado and
then e-mail it to myself. Then add to it as I come
across deals.
Facebook
Many of the stockpilers are on Facebook and
posts deals throughout the day. Categorize
stockpilers with an Interests List.

Deal/Money Back Apps/Sites
Before you sign up for any of the following
apps or websites, ask a friend or sign-up using a
referral link so that others receive a benefit from
you signing up. There is a listing of these apps in the

Ibotta – earn money back /gift cards on specific items, take a
picture of receipt and scan UPC, some stores are tied to loyalty
card such as Remke, also has restaurants, pets stores and are
constantly adding more
Checkout51 – New – works like Ibotta, deals run Thursday –
Wednesday, must submit within the time period,
•Website version -Can scan and upload receipt
•Often healthy offers on web
SavingsStar – earn money back on items, must load to your
account first, add your Kroger, Remke or CVS card, recently
added many other stores
•Only Remke is automatic, other you must submit receipt
•Friday Freebie offers, often healthy offers

14. The Next Level –
Deal/Money Back Apps/Sites
Receipt Hog – Earn coins or spins for coins for taking a picture of
your receipt. Grocery store type items from a number of stores.
Must submit within 14 days. Redeem coins for PayPal or Amazon
gift card.
Shoparoo – Same as Receipt Hog except you earn points for
which a “cause” of your choosing earns money. Grocery store
type items from a number of stores. Must submit within 14
days.
Groupon recently introduced a rebate app similar to Ibotta
& Savings Star. Add offers and submit receipts.

15. A Few Additional Tips
•Remke STILL DOUBLES coupons – watch for
Super Double Days – Announced 1st in the
Couponers FB Group
•You can Quintuple stack at Target – mobile,
Cartwheel, Target printable, manufacturer
coupons AND Red Card discount
•Make sure your “cause” is benefiting from
your shopping – Kroger, Remke, Meijer, Target
along with Shoparoo ALL benefit organizations.
•Look for Department Stacking Opportunities at Kroger

16. A Few Additional Tips
Always check the clearance/Manager’s Markdown areas –
especially meat, freeze to keep fresh
Consider joining a food coop such as Paula’s Produce to
get great pricing on produce
Please consider donating your expired coupons
to military families. They can use coupons up
to 6 months after expiration. Check out Expired
