1. Multiple Subject Credential Program
Classroom Placement Classes
The Multiple Subject Teacher Credential Program is a three-phase program
designed to give students pursuing a career in education the tools necessary to work in the
classroom. EHD 174, 178, and 170/170ECE, taken with several other courses throughout
three semester, work to progressively give students more experience working with
children because every phase will require more time in the classroom.
Phase 1:
• EHD 174: This course places students in 4th through 8th grade classrooms on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A minimum of six hours of
classroom time per week is required for successful completion of the course.
Phase 2:
• EHD 178: This course places students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms
from Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. A minimum of twelve hours
of classroom time per week is required for successful completion of the course.
Phase 3:
• EHD 170/170ECE: This is the final course that places students in the classroom.
Students are required to be in the classroom 30 minutes prior to beginning of the
school day and 30 minutes after the end of the school day from Monday through
Friday. Students will be taking on the responsibilities of a fulltime teacher.
Through the many partnerships that we have with districts around the Valley we are
able to put our credential students in real classrooms so that they can practice real
teaching techniques under the supervision of experienced teachers. Each phase requires
