Meitheilon is the predominant language in Manipur, located in northeast India. Manipur has a rich culture, especially known for its classical dance forms. The staple food is rice and fish, particularly a fermented fish called Ngri. While Hinduism and Christianity are prominent religions, a large minority also practices the traditional Sanamahism religion. Okram Ibobi Singh has been the Chief Minister of Manipur since 2002, having served three terms. He belongs to the Indian National Congress party.
