• API
Suatu masa/zat gas yang dapat timbul karena adanya reaksi oksidasi
yang bersifat exotermis dan dapat menghasilkan panas, nyala, cahaya
dan asap.
• OKSIDASI
Reaksi kimia antara bahan/benda dengan oksigen (O2).
• PEMBAKARAN
Pengoksidasian cepat yang diikuti oleh peristiwa api, atau nyala.
• KEBAKARAN
Suatu bencana, malapetaka atau musibah yang ditimbulkan oleh api
yang tidak terkendali/tidak diharpakan/tidak dibutuhkan, sukar
dikuasai, merugikan, memusnahkan harta benda dan mengancam
keselamatan jiwa.

3. PENGERTIAN-PENGERTIAN
• PENCEGAHAN BAHAYA KEBAKARAN
Usaha tindakan yang dilakukan sebelum terjadi kebakaran dengan
maksud mengurangi faktor penyebab terjadinya kebakaran.
• PENANGGULANGAN BAHAYA KEBAKARAN
Usaha/tindakan yang dilaksanakan/dilakukan baik sebelum pada saat
maupun setelah kebakaran.
• ALAT PEMADAM API
Adalah alat untuk memadamkan kebakaran, yang mencakup alat
pemadam api ringan dan alat pemadam api berat/yang
menggunakan roda.
• MEDIA PEMADAMAN
Jenis bahan yang dipergunakan untuk memadamkan kebakaran.

4. KERUGIAN KEBAKARAN
Pada dunia industri, kebakaran
dapat menimbulkan kerugian berupa
korban jiwa dan terhentinya proses
produksi sehingga perusahaa
merugi dalam jumlah yang sangat
besar (materi, gedung, asuransi
pegawai, rehabilitasi)

OKSIGEN
Sumber oksigen adalah dari udara, dimana
dibutuhkan paling sedikit sekitar 15% volume
oksigen dalam udara agar terjadi pembakaran.
(O2 di atmosfer 21%)

PANAS
Sumber panas diperlukan untuk mencapai
suhu penyalaan sehingga dapat mendukung
terjadinya kebakaran. Sumber panas antara
lain: panas matahari, permukaan yang panas,
nyala terbuka, gesekan, reaksi kimia
eksotermis, energi listrik, percikan api listrik,
api las / potong, gas yang dikompresi

BAHAN BAKAR
Bahan bakar adalah semua benda yang dapat
mendukung terjadinya pembakaran. Ada tiga
wujud bahan bakar, yaitu padat, cair dan gas.
Untuk benda padat dan cair dibutuhkan panas
pendahuluan untuk mengubah seluruh atau
sebagian darinya, ke bentuk gas agar dapat
mendukung terjadinya pembakaran

BENDA PADAT
Bahan bakar padat yang terbakar akan meninggalkan sisa
berupa abu atau arang setelah selesai terbakar. Contohnya:
kayu, batu bara, plastik, gula, lemak, kertas, kulit dll.
BENDA CAIR
Bahan bakar cair contohnya: bensin, cat, minyak tanah,
pernis, turpentine, lacquer, alkohol, olive oil, dan lainnya.
BENDA GAS
Bahan bakar gas contohnya: gas alam, asetilen, karbon
monoksida, butan, dll

Adalah kebakaran atau
api yang terjadi pada
bahan bakar padat,
seperti; kayu, kain, kertas,
kapuk, karet, plastik dan
lain sebagainya.
