Kneaver An Overview From User Perspective PptKneaver
The document discusses the goals and features of the Kneaver knowledge management system. It aims to [1] decrease the cost of building knowledge bases while increasing their leverage, [2] make entering knowledge easy and fun for users, and [3] provide tools for exploring, enhancing, and actively using organizational knowledge. The system is designed to store explicit knowledge close to what humans can express, link items, and support learning through meta-processes, inductors, and other features.
The document analyzes the economic crisis in Spain from 2007 to 2013. It describes three phases: an initial expansionary period under the PSOE government, followed by an austerity bias as the crisis worsened still under PSOE, and then strong austerity cuts under the PP government. Graphs show declining GDP, domestic demand, employment and tax revenues, as well as rising unemployment. Wages declined in real terms from 2008-2012 due to internal devaluation policies. Despite austerity measures, the public deficit remained above targets. The policies have led to falling household incomes, greater inequality, and increased poverty and social exclusion.

Presentation on the KiWi platform given at the Semantic Wiki workshop at ESWC09; short form also given as demonstration presentation which later won the best demo award
KiWi – A flexible platform for semantic social media applicationsKiwi Community
KiWi is a flexible platform for building semantic social media applications according to wiki principles. It provides core functionality like editing, versioning, tagging, and search that can be used across applications. KiWi also allows applications to share content and features. Existing applications on the KiWi platform demonstrate its capabilities, including a semantic wiki, tag-based content geolocator, and personalized dashboards. The goal of KiWi is to combine knowledge management, wiki philosophies, and semantic web technologies into an adaptable system aligned with how people work.
Knowledge Transformation in Software Development ProcessesIlia Bider
The document discusses knowledge transformation in software development processes. It presents frameworks for representing knowledge transformation based on the SECI model of knowledge transformation and applies it to both traditional and agile software development processes. For traditional processes, the ECEA model is used and risks include requirements not fully capturing needs and changes occurring between development stages. For agile processes, the SEA model is used and risks include weak architecture and lost knowledge when developers leave. The document proposes mitigating these risks through cross-functional teams for traditional processes and code libraries and domain-specific tools for agile processes. It concludes with describing a thesis project to investigate how agile organizations store and reuse knowledge across projects.
The German Armed Forces Wiki-Service began as an experiment to evaluate using wikis and social software to better organize information on their intranet and make knowledge more accessible. Over time, they expanded from a single wiki to include multiple agency, project, and topic wikis. Through marketing efforts and a focus on community participation, they grew an active author base to over 800 users contributing to content. Metrics on page views and edits show increasing engagement with the service. The goal is to transition from an experimental phase to productive long-term operation, selecting a platform that can support an expanding community focus.
DataWiki is a versatile semantic enterprise wiki that supports communities of knowledge workers to easily formalise their expert knowledge. The socially curated knowledge base is enriched with data from external enterprise databases and made available to the Wiki users (semantic data integration).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
