This document provides a kit list for a trip to New York in February, including essential items such as a passport, money, warm clothes, a mobile phone, camera, day bag, alarm clock set to New York time, toiletries, and a US-UK mains adapter. • Warm clothes(includingacoat) and waterproof shoes- make sure youhave brokenthemin
before youtravel.NewYorkinmid-Februaryislikelytobe cold and there will be lotsof
walkingoutside.If youwearthe equivalentof slippersyouwillhave coldfeet!
• Mobile phone (NYready,withacharger) and Camera.Try not to have too much
paraphernaliawithyourcameraandbear inmindthat youwill needtokeepitsecure.New
York isno betteror worse thanothercapital citiesforthe risk of pickpocketing –especially
at touristdestinationssuchasthe Time Square.
• One ‘daybag’ to put essentialitems,sketchbooksandthingsyouwill needwalkingabout
galleries,studiosetc.and one largerbag/case forclothes/toiletriesetc.Yourdaybag should
not have anyliquids orsharpsin as thiswill notbe allowedontothe aeroplane.
• Alarmclock seton NewYorktime- make sure thisisone that youknow how tooperate (you
do notwant it togo off in the middle of the nightandwake yourentire roomup!).Try not to
relyon yourmobile phone- the batterywill runout.
