If the ship was sinking,
who would you save?
A person came to Messenger of Allah
PBUH and asked,
"Who among people is most deserving of
my fine treatment?“
He said, "Your mother".
He again asked, ''Who next?"
"Your mother", the Prophet PBUH replied
again.
He asked, "Who next?“
the Prophet PBUH said again,
"Your mother.“
He again asked, "Then who?"
he said," Then your father."

In Islam, kindness and respect towards parents are
considered paramount.

1
And be humble with them out of mercy and pray,
"My Lord, be merciful with them as they raised me when I was young"
‫إحسانا‬ ‫وبالوالدين‬ ‫إياه‬ ّ
‫إال‬ ‫تعبدوا‬ ‫أال‬ ‫ك‬ّ‫ب‬‫ر‬ ‫وقضى‬
And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to
parents, good treatment.
Whether one or both of them reach old age in your care , never say to them
even , "uff," nor yell at them but speak to them respectfully

‫تنهرهما‬ ‫وال‬ ٍّ

I asked the Messenger of Allah
" Which action is dearest to Allah?"
He replied, "Performing the prayer at its earliest fixed time."
I asked, "What is next (in goodness)?
" He said, "Kindness to parents."
How to
be Kind
to your
Parents?

- Avoid raising one's voice
when addressing parents.
- Use polite language.
- Greet them when entering
or leaving the house.
Respectful communication

- Offer assistance in daily tasks,
especially as parents age.
- Prophet Muhammad PBUH set
an example by helping with
household chores of his family.
Physical assistance and service

A Muslim should obey his parents and do
things they tell him to do!
If your parents tell you to brush your teeth,
to do your homework, to wash yourself,
or to bring something from the kitchen,
you should quickly do as you are told.
- Pray for parents' well-being and
seek Allah's blessings for them.
- Include prayers for their
forgiveness, guidance, and good
health.
- Always say this du’aa:

Ibn Masoud brought water for his mother,
and he came while she had slept,
So, he remained standing next to her until
she woke up, then he gave her water.
He was afraid that he would go and she
would wake up and not find water,
and he was afraid that he would sleep and
she would wake up and not find water, so he
remained standing until she woke up.
Ibn Masoud story:
