Kind Emma
Can you predict from these pictures what
the text is about?
Kind Emma lived all alone with no one to talk to.
One night, a little voice called, “Oh, dear Emma,
oh!
Where can I go in the wind and in the snow?”
Who is the main character?
What is the setting of the story?
What happened that night?
The setting is Emma’s house.
How was the weather that day?
“ Come into my house,” said Kind Emma.
She opened the door and a tiny thing scuttled in.
It was almost too small to be seen. ran quickly
the tiny thing
Who scuttled in when Emma opened the
door?
How do you think Emma felt when
she saw this tiny thing?
Do you think you will do the same as Emma?
Why or why not?
Then the little voice said, “Oh, dear Emma, oh!
Your fire has burned low and I shiver so!”
“I’ll make the fire glow for you,” said Kind Emma,
and she poked the fire.
Pushed a pointed object into someone or something
Shake because you feel cold or ill
How did Emma try to help the little thing?
What do you think will happen next?
Why did Emma poke the fire?
Then the little voice said, “Oh, dear Emma ,oh!
I ate long ago. I need food so!”
“You can share what I have, "said Kind Emma.
She put a dish of hot soup and a very small spoon on the table.
The tiny thing stayed hidden. It was afraid to come out.
What did Emma put on the table?
Which sentence tells that Emma was kind?

Next Morning , when Emma awoke….

Kind Emma.
