Children should appreciate the sacrifices parents make and spend time with their parents, as parents need the company of their children. It is forbidden to hurt parents, even with words, and children should pray for parents who have passed away.

this reason, it has been used as a measure to illustrate Allah's
love for His creation.

discusses Islamic rites and tradition, nurturing and fostering,
education, upbringing, the onus and rights of the couple,
mother and children and also illustrates the differences
between imprudent and wise mothers.

3. وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا 17:24 And spread over them humbly the wings of thy tenderness, and say: "O my Sustainer! 5. وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَهْنًا عَلَى وَهْنٍ وَفِصَالُهُ فِي عَامَيْنِ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْكَ إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ 31:14 “And [God says:] ‘We have enjoined upon man goodness towards his parents: his mother bore him by bearing strain upon strain, and his utter dependence on her lasted two years: [hence, O man,] be grateful towards Me and towards thy parents, [and remember that] with Me is all journeys’ end. 6. It is a sinful act to hurt parents’heart even with a single word such as “uuh” and “aah”and it is more sinful toinsult, abuse or scold them. If the parents have passed away, it is a must for the children to make dua for their parents’ safety in the world of barzakh. 7. Prophet Muhammad(صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: your deeds will be displayed in front of your parents and relatives that are passed away, therefore, if your deeds are excellent, they feel happy to knew about it but if it is on contrary, they will ask Allah to grant guidances for their relatives as Allah bestow upon them during their lifetime.
