The document summarizes the story of Jesus' life from birth to death using the analogy of three trees.
1) The first tree became the manger for Jesus' birth, representing Christmas past and the cradle. Jesus was born to die for humanity's redemption.
2) The second tree became the crossbeam of the crucifixion, representing Christmas present and the cross. Jesus suffered and died to reveal God and bring humanity into fellowship with him.
3) The third tree became the first Christmas tree, representing Christmas future and the crown. Jesus will return to take believers to the marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven. The cradle and cross are fundamentally connected in the Christmas story and message of salvation.
The document discusses the cradle, cross, and crown of Jesus Christ. It describes the cradle as his incarnation, intervention, and inspiration. It then examines the cross, citing verses about God's love and Jesus giving himself for humanity. Finally, it looks at the crown, referencing Jesus wearing the crown of thorns and his future return with a golden crown to gather believers. The overall message is reflecting on who Jesus is and his role in salvation.
The document discusses God's missionary nature and purpose from the beginning of scripture to seek out all people and bring them salvation. It references passages where God comes searching for Adam and Eve after the fall, calls Abram to bless all nations, and the end of Revelation where a vast multitude from every nation will be before God's throne. True worship of God is described as being in spirit and in truth. The question is posed of what an individual would risk and sacrifice to make a difference in the world as people are willing to die for causes they deem truly important.
This document contains a prayer, scripture passages from Luke, and commentary on the Parable of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15:11-32. The prayer asks God to hold before us the image of humanity made new through Jesus Christ. The scripture passages retell the parable, in which a father joyfully welcomes his prodigal son who had squandered his inheritance. The commentary discusses how the parable emphasizes God's compassionate love and offers an invitation to rejoice in those who return to God, as well as defending Jesus' association with sinners. It concludes with a benediction praying for generous hearts to welcome all seeking God's unconditional love.
- The document discusses the future of First Baptist Church Tucker and whether it can go from being a "good" church to a "great" church. It examines how the church's absence would impact the community.
- It also discusses passages from the book of Acts about Cornelius and Peter, and passages from Galatians and Matthew about the fruits of the spirit and being the light of the world through good deeds.
- Finally, it considers the concepts of goodness as virtuous, graceful, and "putting things to right" as well as Paul's prayer for the church to have hope, faithfulness, and anticipation of Christ's return.
1) The document discusses the Christmas message of Jesus Christ being born as the Savior for humanity in the city of David, as prophesied.
2) It describes Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb who takes the sins of the world, being substituted in our place on the cross to provide salvation.
3) The main point is that Christmas is about more than festivities - it is about accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord so that his death on the cross can save us from our sins and bring victory over death.
The passage describes three parables told by Jesus about finding value in the lost. The first parable is about a younger son who asks his father for his inheritance and leaves for a distant land, wasting his wealth. When a famine comes, he must work feeding pigs and realizes his father's workers have more than he. He decides to return home and ask to be a servant. Seeing him return, his father embraces him and celebrates his return. The older son is unhappy with the celebration. The father explains to the older son that they must celebrate the return of their brother who was lost and is now found.
This document presents various depictions and interpretations of Jesus Christ from different cultures and time periods. It includes biblical passages describing Jesus, as well as artistic representations showing Jesus as a teacher, savior, lamb, and more. The document questions how our tendency to interpret Christ shapes views of both Jesus and ourselves, and whether interpreting Jesus is necessary, dangerous or simple. It emphasizes that through reconciliation with God in Christ, believers are made new and called to be ambassadors of reconciliation for others.

This document discusses why marriage matters according to biblical passages. It provides six reasons for marriage: 1) For the connection of men and women, as God said it is not good for man to be alone; 2) For the multiplication of the human race, as God commanded Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply; 3) For the protection of children, as Proverbs says children have refuge in marriage; 4) For the perfection of character, as we learn not to be selfish through marriage; 5) For the construction of society, as righteousness lifts up a nation; 6) For reflecting the union of Christ and the church, as Ephesians says marriage represents this relationship.

This document provides an overview of biblical feasts and holidays, comparing Jewish calendar dates to their significance in the New Testament church. It focuses on the feast of Passover, explaining that Passover commemorates God's act of passing over the Israelites when he struck down the firstborn of Egypt but spared the Israelites who had lamb's blood on their doorposts. Symbolically, the Passover lamb prefigures Jesus Christ, who was crucified at the same time that the Passover lamb would have been sacrificed. Spiritually, the Passover reminds believers that Egypt represents the world system from which we have been delivered by Christ's redemption.

This document summarizes a message given by Nik Ball about God's vision for the RRCC church. It discusses several things God has said to the church based on passages from Genesis and Isaiah, including that God will go with the church as it moves forward and fulfill all his promises. God has called the church to be a light to Gentiles and has given visions of replanting and regrowth. The church needs to respond through deeper worship, pursuing new premises and ministries, and all members getting involved through cell groups and serving. Individual and collective response is important to avoid missing out on what God is doing and hindering church growth.

The document describes Paul's experience after being shipwrecked on the island of Malta. The natives showed Paul and his companions kindness by building a fire to warm them. Later, Paul was bitten by a viper but remained unharmed. This led the natives to believe Paul was a god. Paul later continued his journey to Rome where he encountered believers who welcomed and encouraged him. In Rome, Paul preached to the Jews but some disagreed with his message and departed with closed hearts despite Paul urging them to turn to God for healing.
The wedding invitation is extended to anyone and everyone, total strangers, both good and bad. This refers to the gospel being taken to the Gentiles. Those invited initially, the Jews, rejected the invitation, bringing God's judgment. The matter of the wedding garment teaches that only through Christ's righteousness, not our own works, can we be clothed properly to attend the wedding feast of heaven. Unless we have on this garment of salvation, we will miss the celebration and face eternal darkness apart from God.

This is a study of Jesus as the reason for the season. I focus on the positive aspect but there is a negative side as well for much of Christmas celebration has nothing to do with Jesus.
From the creation the moral law was an essential part of God’s divine plan, and was as unchangeable as Himself. The ceremonial law was to answer a particular purpose in Christ’s plan for the salvation of the race

The preface discusses the power and adaptation of the Bible to every situation. The introduction focuses on the word "yet" and how it represents both God's promises and the grounds for faith's pleas. It analyzes the word "yet" in Isaiah 53:10 which refers to God bruising and putting Jesus to grief as part of the divine plan of redemption. Overall, the document explores how the small word "yet" encapsulates the entirety of God's covenant purposes and salvation for his people through Jesus Christ.

It includes summaries of the first reading from Acts about Peter's speech proclaiming Jesus' resurrection, the responsorial Psalm, the second reading from 1 Peter about conducting oneself with reverence, and the Gospel reading about Jesus appearing to two disciples on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection.
Peter preaches to the Jews and Israelites about Jesus, emphasizing his mighty deeds done through him by God, his crucifixion by lawless men, and his resurrection by God. He cites passages from David to support that the Messiah would suffer but not remain in the grave. Peter and the apostles are witnesses to Jesus' resurrection. The psalmist expresses trust in God who will protect them from death and show them the path of life. Christians are to conduct themselves with reverence, realizing they were ransomed by Christ's blood, not with money. Their faith and hope are in the God who raised Jesus. The gospel recounts Jesus joining two disciples walking to Emmaus after his resurrection, though

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
2. To The CrossDavid Waltershttp://www.slideshare.net/Gospelman/from-the-cradle-to-the-cross
3. Luke 22:7 NETThen the day for the feast of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us to eat." 9They said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare it?" 10He said to them, "Listen, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters,
4. 11and tell the owner of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?" ' 12Then he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. Make preparations there." 13So they went and found things just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
5. 14Now when the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table and the apostles joined him. 15And he said to them,"I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." 17Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves.
6. 18For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." 19Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. 20And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood."
7. I remember a children’s story of THREE trees, and how they would be used of God. 1. The first became the manger that Jesus used at His birth. 2. The second became the cross beam of Calvary, used by Jesus at His death. 3. The third became the first Christmas tree, where we each year remember Jesus. See each tells its own story of being used, like you and me.
8. CHRISTMAS PAST, THE CRADLE The beginning of Christmas, remember the Lord’s death. Hebrews 10:5 NETSo when he came into the world, he said,"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me. (Psalm 40:6-7)
9. The Christmas Gift has two sides, God's gift to us, and our gift to Him: He gives us of Himself and we give ourselves to Him. Immanuel, “God with us.” or “With us is God,” This is the Christmas message!
10. God manifest in the flesh, God and man, similar though not identical, He is all together man, & He is all together God, sharing a common life in the fellowship of Love. Jesus was God’s gift for our redemption. Made possible by His birth.
11. His death was made meaningful by His life. He was born to die, that we might live! This death was made immense by His resurrection! He conquered death, hell, and the grave, and so His gift continues giving to us eternally!
12. Each Christmas, we are reminded, Christ was “born to die.” Lying in the cradle, within a stable, is the first gift of Christmas, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Over the next 30 odd years much will happen, leading from the cradle to the cross.
13. Christmas should be a time of remembrance of the difference Christ has made in the, past, present, and future. And we do not need some CHRISTMAS CAROL ghost to guide us, only God’s Word and His Holy Spirit, so that we may remember.
14. Isaiah 9:6 NETFor a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
15.
16. CHRISTMAS PRESENT, THE CROSS The ultimate goal of Christmas, remember the Lord’s steps (and walk in them). John 13:15 NETFor I have given you an example — you should do just as I have done for you. Paul Reminds the Church at Corinth of this. 1 Corinthians 11:1 NET Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.
17. Jesus begs us to learn from Him so that He can give us what we long for. Matthew 11:28 NET Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.“
18. A yoke is a wooden bar or frame that joins two animals like oxen or horses so that they can pull a wagon, plow, etc. together. Here it is used figuratively of the restrictions that a teacher or rabbi would place on his followers. (NET notes) I will give you rest, I am gentle and humble, you will find rest for your souls,For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry. Following Jesus is in our best interest.
19. 1 Peter 2:21 NET For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps. Jesus showed mankind the eternal nature of God; because He so fully understood God, He was so fully able to reveal Him, and to bring man into fellowship with Him, and thus giving us eternal life.
20. He could not have done this, if, He had not also entered so deeply into fellowship with man as to share in all man's sufferings and sorrows and sins, finally bearing them in His own body on the tree, even to the point of feeling himself forsaken of God. But wait! Jesus didn’t share in sin! He never sinned so why would I say He shared in sin?
21. Why did Christ cry out “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Because, at that time the sins of all mankind were upon Him, and due to their iniquities and transgressions, He was wounded; He was to bear them, and to be an offering for them, as He was man, but death did not master Him, He was God.
22. And so in that He died for all men, and tasted death for every man, He was the offering for all the sins of the whole world. Before we finish considering Christmas Present, have you considered your Christmas Present to the One whose birthday it is all about?
23. Make sure He gets the best, make sure and spend the most. Give yourself fully to God your saviour. Luke 2:12 NETThis will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger."
24.
25. CHRISTMAS FUTURE, THE CROWN The glorious climax of Christmas, remember His soon return. 1 Corinthians 11:26 NET For every time you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
26. Did three words ever tell more “until he comes.”? Jesus spoke of His second coming and His Heavenly kingdom. He who came into the world will take us out of the world! The Last Supper was not really the last! For the next supper is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, and the table is already being set!
27. Revelation 19:7 NETLet us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen" (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints). 9Then the angel said to me, "Write the following:
28. Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!" He also said to me, "These are the true words of God." 10So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, "Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
30. Here we stand before the supreme mystery. Bethlehem and Calvary are fundamentally connected; the Cradle involves the Cross, & the Cross illumines the Cradle. This is the heart of the Christmas experience and the Christmas message.
31. The stable is where it all started, He who was born to die, but does not stop there, He died that we might live, and He rose to make it possible! Living He loved me, dying He saved me, buried He carried my sins far away, rising He justified, freely forever, and one day He’s coming, Oh glorious day!
