1. PROVEN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN TRACK RECORD
RECENT KEY ATTRIBUTES (RESULTS BASED):
• Helped Amec Foster Wheeler achieve their project milestones within their target completion
date for fire and gas switchover and cooling water medium design deliverables for the
Talisman Sinopec Montrose Area Redevelopment (MAR) project.
• Successfully delivered three complete turbine control system and filter-house upgrades for
CNR's Ninian Central platform, with a complete set of deliverables on a reduced timescale.
Provided technical support for commissioning. Identified obsolescence and safety issues in
the new turbine control system design and redesigned interfaces to address faults.
• Made a successful I&C tender for Xodus Group winning them a detailed design contract for
a hydrocyclone upgrade scope of work on BG assets in Trinidad.
• Successfully completed Nexen Buzzard alarm management modification FAT in conjunction
with Profimation and ABB in line with EUMA 191 guidelines. Stimulated extra business for
Xodus based on this success and were requested to assist in the SAT phase of the project.
• Successfully delivered a pre-FEED fiscal metering design upgrade for the Talisman Fulmar
platform with a detailed cost estimate.
• Provided Enquest with a detailed Life of Field (LOF) study report for their Northern
Producer asset covering PCS, ESD, F&G and marine systems.
• Led the successful instrument and control input into a major gas compression upgrade
FEED study for OMV/Petrom on their Lebada East asset in the Black Sea.
• Successfully commissioned CAPEX fuel gas import system for CNR’s Ninian Central
platform. Saved CNR thousands by problem solving on site, utilising the materials that were
immediately available and sending back technical solutions rather than queries ensuring a
quick turnaround from onshore engineering personnel.
• Successfully commissioned CAPEX legacy project for an oil export pump for CNR’s
Murchison asset at very short notice. Saved CNR thousands by problem solving on site,
utilising the materials that were immediately available and sending back technical solutions
rather than queries ensuring a quick turnaround from onshore engineering personnel.
• Successfully delivered an oil mist detection system modification for Bluewater Aoka Mizu
FPSO for literally half the cost of their original design review.
• Redesigned legacy HVAC control panel logic for the Dunlin Alpha Platform, delivered on
time and under budget.
• Managed delivery of a new drillers office module for the Dunlin Alpha platform including
all platform interfaces.
• Designed a unique oil export metering system for Hess’s AH001 semi submersible platform,
utilising existing equipment and multiple flow meters saving the company £30,000 over
industry standard designs.
• Successfully managed the topsides installation instrumentation, F&G and telecoms of the
Siri Jarl oil tanker conversion to FPSO based at the Remotowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland.
• Delivered mechanical completion scope on schedule as part of a large multidisciplinary
team of Europe’s largest gas processing plant Ormen Lange based at Aukra.
• Successfully delivered ultrasonic flare metering system for Maersk Gryphon FPSO.
• Devised an air compressor operating philosophy for automation of compressor duty cycles
saving Maersk £20,000 of external vendor fees.
