The presence of a child in the family is one of the happiest things and the greatest gift for a woman, but not everyone
thinks like that, some women experience the condition of baby blues syndrome or postpartum blues, it can even progress
to postpartum depression. This study aims to analyze the relationship of social support to the incidence of baby blues in
the Krejengan Public Health Center, Probolinggo Regency. This research method uses a quantitative type with a cross-
sectional design. Husband's support and family support as independent variables. The incidence of baby blues as the
dependent variable. The sample size was obtained by using a two-proportion difference hypothesis test, namely 31
respondents. Methods of collecting data were questionnaires for husband and family support and the Edinburgh
Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaire for the incidence of baby blues/postpartum blues. Data analysis was
carried out starting from univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of the study are p-value greater than 0.05,
which means there is no significant relationship. The study concludes that there is no relationship between husband's

Pada Ibu Postpartum di Kabupaten Merauke. Journal of Pharmaceutical and
Health Research.
Postpartum blues, or better known as baby blues," is a mild mood disorder that is often experienced by mothers in the first
week after giving birth and peaks on the third to fifth day. This can be triggered by a mother's feeling that she is not ready
for the birth of a baby or by an awareness of the responsibilities of being a mother. Baby blues in Indonesia are
experienced by many postpartum mothers, especially at-risk and primiparous mothers. Lack of public awareness
regarding baby blues results in a lack of support given to mothers, making them feel neglected and alone. If the baby
blues are not handled properly, they can progress to postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. The purpose of
this research is to find out the feelings of mothers who experience baby blues and their efforts to overcome them. This
research method uses qualitative methods through a phenomenological approach. Participants were selected using a
purposive sampling technique, followed by interviews with willing mothers. The results of this study found four themes:
the feelings of mothers when experiencing baby blues; causal factors; efforts made by mothers; and expectations of
mothers who experience baby blues. In conclusion, every postpartum mother is at risk of experiencing baby blues, and the
best effort that can be made is to provide social support such as informational, emotional, instrumental, and assessment
support.

Reality. ScienceDirect.

Postpartum blues usually connotes a brief psychological disturbance in mood within few days of delivery. We aimed to
evaluate the prevalence of postnatal blues and associated risk factors in a population of Nigerian women. We
performed a cross-sectional study involving 292 parturients on third day of the delivery in our center between April 2019
and August 2019. Postnatal blues was assessed with Kennerly and Gath Blues questionnaire and a mean score of
greater than 7 was taken as cut-off. They also completed Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaires.
Socio-demographic characteristics were also obtained. The prevalence of postnatal blues was 45.5%. Postnatal blues
was associated with birth of a female baby (50% compared with 40%, adjusted OR 2.37 95% CI 1.29–4.31, p = 0.005),
preterm delivery (66.7% compared with 42.6%, adjusted OR 3.79 95% CI 1.54–9.31, p = 0.004); and puerperal complications.
(58.3% compared with 44.4%, adjusted OR 5.25 95% CI 1.71–16.07) and average annual family income (p < 0.001). Postnatal
blues is real and prevalent among Nigerian women. Healthcare providers should endeavor to be vigilant in order to
diagnose postnatal blues promptly and do the necessary follow up.

Baby blues is a condition where there is a change in mood in postpartum mothers that occurs every time after the mother gives birth
to her baby. Baby blues occur due to several factors, namely internal and external. Symptoms that appear in postpartum mothers
can interfere with the mother's ability to carry out roles, one of which is caring for the baby and inhibiting the release of oxytocin
which ultimately reduces milk production. Family support is a way to prevent or overcome the increase in psychological disorders felt
by postpartum mothers through motivation and enthusiasm in preventing mothers from experiencing postpartum blues. This study
aims to determine the relationship between family support and baby blues Incidence on Postpartum Mothers at Pulau Terap Village
Kampar Regency Riau Province 2022. This study use a cross sectional design with a total sampling of 46 respondents. The results
shows that there is no family support for postpartum mothers as much as 56.5% and postpartum mothers who experienced severe
baby blues as much as 45.7%. Data analysis shows that there is a relationship between family support and the incidence of baby
blues on postpartum mothers at Pulau Terap Village, Kampar Regency, from the results of the chi square statistical test found p-
value = 0.001. It is hoped that further researchers will be able to examine postpartum mothers who are currently experiencing the
