holidays as people form US or UK. 
 There are few holidays that are only in New 
Zealand. 
 Anzac day (25. April) is a nationald day of 
remembrance in soldiers. 
 It’s celebrated in New Zealand and Australia.
 In New Zealand Christmas comes in the 
middle of the summer holidays. 
 Many New Zealanders have a barbecue for 
Christmas lunch. 
 Many people have a Christmas Tree in their 
homes and they decorate it. 
 They open their presents usually before the 
Christmas lunch.
 Santa Claus is very popular among children in 
New Zealand. 
 In Auckland there is a giant santa on the Queen 
Street.
 Maori are the indigenous people of New 
Zealand. 
 Maori arrived to New Zealand at some time 
between 1250 and 1300.

 Most of the settlers landed on the east coast of 
the North Island.
