Remote Video Store Inspections
In July 2015, China Mobile and KEDACOM reached a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai,
and thereafter KEDACOM set up a pilot phase of the Remote Retail Supervision System. Using
this system, the retail store management can conduct remote store inspections, generate customer
traffic statistics, and analyze in-store hot spots.
Through addressing these three functional modules, one Qingpu store was used as a test bed.
The theme for this pilot project is “Dynamic Creatives.” In this project, with the assistance of China
Mobile staff, this system was implemented in real-time to assimilate with in-store operations as a
practical representation using the pilot phase of this project.

Remote inspection of stores
Any given store can be monitored with KEDACOM Remote Retail
Supervision System regardless of geographic location
At China Mobile’s Qingpu store, KEDACOM installed dedicated cameras with excellent network
adaptability to ensure smooth high-definition video transmission. For in-store inspection process,
the supervisory staff can capture images and indicate within the image if a situation requires
further attention.
There is also an option to summon a managerial staff to the store for further supervision or personally
address a situation if necessary. The system also has an in-built store scoring function, and after
the store inspections are complete customers can leave detailed feedback where it is useful for
the store management to make further improvements.

Traffic Statistics
Installed in the operating room of this Qingpu store is a connected sub-system for collecting statistics
data. This sub-system records the daily sales volume, amount and details of personnel accessing
this information. This information can be output for further analysis in the form of a matrix chart,
pie chart, line graph and in tabular form.
Hot Spots Analysis
In the Qingpu store, the system records the number of customer visits, their visit to specific spots
within the store, and their duration of visit. For further analysis, the system generates distribution
maps, data tables to analyze hot spots and determine which products or services receive special
attention by customers.
