Bulldogs have a large, wrinkly skin that does not require a leash. They are known for their loud snoring and some need their facial rolls washed daily to prevent infections from sweat. Bulldogs were originally bred in England by crossing pugs and mastiffs. Due to breathing problems in many bulldogs, breeding regulations have been implemented. Their skin is sensitive to heat and sunburn, so water and shade are important. One bulldog named Meatball died on the way to the vet on Christmas due to asthma likely caused by irresponsible breeding.
