This document provides instructions for obtaining lifetime free access to Kaspersky antivirus versions 6.0 and 7.0 by removing specific registry keys to allow reactivating the 30-day trial multiple times. It outlines two methods - manually deleting the registry keys using Registry Editor or creating a batch file to automate the process. Running the batch file resets the 30-day trial counter without needing to purchase a license.

Steps through how Red Hat added the <fix> tag to XCCDF content, in order to support scripted remediations of OVAL findings. Presented 21-JUL-2013 at MITRE Developer Days in McLean, VA.
The idea of the project is to provide the effects of different ways of sounds produced in decibels to monitor the heart beat rate, blood pressure, hearing loss, stress. To protect from decibels provided by the environment.
It has thread dumps to be referred from another presentation titled 'Debugging performance bottlenecks in java enterprise application' at http://www.slideshare.net/AjitBhingarkar/debugging-performance-bottlenecks-in-java-enterprise-application-42246703.

Group Replication went Generally Available end of 2016, it introduces a 'synchronous' active:active multi-master eplication, in addition to asynchronous and semi-synchronous replication, the latter 2 being available in in MySQL for longtime.
As with any new feature, and especially with introducing active:active multi-master replication, it takes a while before companies are adopting the software in production database environment.
For example, even though MySQL 5.7 has been GA for more than a year, adoption is only starting to increase recently.
We can, and should, expect the same from Group Replication. As with every release, bugs will be found, and with new features, best practises still need to formed out of practical experience.
After giving a short introduction on what Group Replication is, I will cover my experience so far in evaluating Group Replication.
A Developer’s Guide to Kubernetes SecurityGene Gotimer
Kubernetes is spreading like crazy across our industry, but most of us are just thrown into the deep end and expected to learn it ourselves. And we do, sort of. We figure out just enough to get our job done, but we don’t have the experience to know if we are doing it right. There is a lot to learn in a technology that is rapidly evolving. The good news is that there are tools and practices to help show us the way.
Join Gene as he shows you what you need to know as a developer to use Kubernetes safely and effectively. He’ll show you some tools you can use to ensure your containers are available, resilient, and secure. They won’t slow you down, won’t cost an arm and a leg, and won’t need you to be a security expert or experienced cloud architect. We’ll use Kubernetes to help us deploy software, not worrying if it will get us fired.
The Art of Unit Testing - Towards a Testable DesignVictor Rentea
Slides of the Talk I gave at Devoxx Belgium 2019.
=== Abstract ===
Focusing on the creative work without being terrified of breaking the existing behavior can make software development very addictive! Good automated tests can buy you that!
However, if your tests are not maintainable they may end up slowing you down and causing you painful headaches, compilation errors and spurious failures. To avoid that, your unit tests should be significant; expressive; clean; DRY; non-overlapping; and blazing fast. Writing good tests becomes the toughest challenge for any developer, no matter how battle-hardened: you need to balance risk with test maintenance costs, while looking out for test design smells that call for [risky] refactoring to drive your design towards a set of key principles (included:).
Principles that will end up shaping the way you craft the Production code itself. Because in the end, a good, clean design is more important than coverage%.
But testing gives you the best feedback to get there.
Grab a black coffee and join this snippet from Victor’s Pro Unit Testing #training, to learn about testing priorities, buggy tests, the shared @Before, Mocks vs Stubs and how to reduce them by "purifying" your logic, testing Legacy Code and refactoring @Spy-es out.
All of that in an entertaining, dynamic and memorable session.
The MySQL sys schema was integrated fully into MySQL Server from version 5.7.7 and has been improved in MySQL 8.0. Whether you are a DBA trying to determine where the resources are being used on your database instance and by whom, or a developer trying to figure out why your MySQL statements are running too slowly, the MySQL sys schema can help. Join this session to learn how to better use the MySQL sys schema to answer your day-to-day questions—from the original developer of the MySQL sys schema.
Molecular Shape Searching on GPUs: A Brave New WorldCan Ozdoruk
Shape is a fundamental three dimensional molecular property and a powerful descriptor for molecular comparison and similarity assessment; similarity in shape has proven to be a very effective method for predicting similarity in biology. As such shape-based virtual screening has become an integral part of computational drug discovery, due to both its speed and efficacy. OpenEye’s recent port of their shape similarity application, ROCS, to the GPU has resulted in a virtual screening tool of unprecedented power – FastROCS. FastROCS’ speed allows it to perform large-scale calculations of a kind inaccessible in the past and has accelerated more routine shape searching to the point that it has become competitive with more traditional, but less effective, two dimensional methods. Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
